Or how about using it in some recipes, like lasagne, cauli cheese, quiche, egg & potato bake, bread pudding, etc and it will soon be gone.

I know if may be obvious but if you are freezing any liquid dont forget it will expand as it freezes and may crack/split, or break any containers that are filled too much. This has happened and milk that goes off in the freezer (it will eventually), taints every item you have in there so freeze with caution and use within a few weeks.Alternatively, why not make a big rice pudding, its dead cheap and easy.Keep trying.........................what else is there to do?

Just take about a cupful of milk out of the bottle before you freeze it, and as long as you keep it upright so it doesnt leak, it should freeze just fine. I find that it is best to use it within a couple of weeks and when defrosting it again, I stand it in a bucket of cold water with a wet tea towel covering it and it will defrost again just like fresh.'Normal' is a dryer setting.0 -
Thanks everyone! Just found an old thread on milk as well! (Sorry! should have searched first - perhaps this one can be added to it?)
so far I have a HUGE rice pudding cooking - intend to split into smaller portions and freeze. Also have a weetabix cake in the oven too - was running low in the freezer and my toddler loves it!
Now want to make a cheese sauce to have in the freezer for emergencies but can't find any pots to freeze it in at the moment.
Do pancakes freeze ok? Think I might make a small batch as only have one egg then I think that will be it all used up!
Who would have thought a bit of extra milk would prompt me to get all this food cooked! :rotfl:
Thanks for all your ideas:TBack Comping after a 2yr break! :j0 -

Aunt Bessie has frozen pancakes in her range so should imagine that they'd freeze fine.

Pancakes do freeze but you need to put something between each one to freeze e.g. baking parchment otherwise you'll end up with one thick frozen pancake! If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0
