Hi my nan used to make scones with milk that had gone off, and they were lovely. You could batch cook and freeze them, also make savoury/cheese ones, great for lunch boxes.I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

scones or pancakes... OR according to Moyra Bremner's Supertips:
"a pinch of bicarbonate of soda and a pinch of sugar added to a pint of milk which is just on the turn, but not yet truly sour, makes it possible to use it in cooking without it separating as it heats or tasting sour [sic]".
I've never tried it though.0 -
Another thought, rice pudding, make a large one then freeze it in smaller amounts to use when needed.I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Hi Kezzygirl, I have used up milk by making up a batch of bechamel sauce/cheese sauce and stored it in the freezer ready for making Mac Cheese, Cauliflower cheese etc, when defrosted it does need to be let down with a little more milk when reheating as it does tend to thicken up a bit - or maybe its just the way I make it :rotfl:
My mother used to intentionally sour milk to make scones, they tasted great but that was back in the 70's when milk actually did go sour rather than just separate and curdle, yuk.
12 pints is a lot to use up - good luckJan - June Grocery spends = £531.61

Yep I make rice pudding in the pressure cooker and custard is another one. Bread and butter pudding too.0

My vote would be yoghurt, loads of cheese sauce, bake like it's going out of fashion and you could even make some cheese. The indian cheese paneer takes a staggering amount of milk, just milk, and lemon juice warmed through then drained and left under a weight. Google paneer for recipes. I love the stuff, but rarely have the amount of milk to make a lot. This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!
