Never very good at posting. Sorry folks, but I do think of you all :)

    Happy birthday :bdaycake: to vastsarah

    Have a hug mummysaver :grouphug:

:hello: to all new posters since I last posted.

Well, our house move is getting closer. I've joined the Mortgage Free Wannabe board as DH and I will be trying to reduce that as quickly as possible.

As part of the "we're moving" challenge that I've set for myself, the store cupboard is slowly going down. Today the slow cooker was wheeled out and there is a divine smelling beef stew bubbling away on low. Need to cook the potatoes, then we'll be ready to go. I'd forgotten how lovely it was to walk into a house full of slow cooker smells.

I've got a stack of paperback books that I'm going to take into school for our staff bookswap. I normally post books through www.readitswapit.co.uk but I've got enough books to read without having to move books on the off chance that someone might want to read them.

Anyway, I've got no other news I'm afraid, other than I can't wait for that Children in Need on TV tomorrow night with Take That. Mmmmmm.

By the way, DH would like it known to you all that he made green tomato chutney using erm, green tomatoes, grown by his own fair hands. (rough, manly hands apparently  Can you tell he's telling me to write this?! :D). He used this recipe, by the way.

PippaS Thanks for that it's going to take some adjusting to for us all I think, but the stress of not knowing if she's ok at home on her own was just getting too much. We had carers 3 times a day and we went over daily but it wasn't enough in the end. Good to hear that your Mum & MIL had good experiences too :A

After all of our work today & MIL having her hospital bag packed at 10am the diabetic nurse didn't come round so poor MIL is still in hospital :mad: She's so disappointed, bless her, and SIL is too as she has to be in work tomorrow & wanted to be there when her Mum got to the home. DH, DD & DS3 have gone up to see her now. I shall ring the hospital in the morning & see what time this nurse is coming as I don't want another day for MIL to get worked up about it all. She isn't in good health or she wouldn't be needing a nursing home in the first place! Sorry - rant over now :o

Hope that everyone is having a pleasant evening & ((hugs)) if you need one xxx

WELL DONE :T:T:T to your DS, know what you mean about losing your car....same thing happened to me twice, but what the heck the smile on their faces was worth it, and they had no excuse not to run me to wherever I needed to be, work mainly in those days, (always had to bus it home though);)

Well, we lose our car/s as well from time to time, but it gives us hours of freed up time where we don't have to run Child A around. She's at Uni now, but always happy to run Child B around when she is here. WIll also do stuff like shopping and so on.

    It's a wonderful achievement though!

  • Well done on your son passing his driving test,it is a great achievement and bucks anyone up.when my DGS passed his he didn't stop smiling for a month and couldn't wait to take anyone who wanted it for a lift anywhere.petrol rising soon stopped his enthusiasm a bit though.
PippaS I know how you feel, my last fridge freezer lasted almost 23 years before it gave up, and the Bosch one I have now was a real bargain. My DD ordered it for me off the internet and paid with her c/card.Three days before delivery the firm collapsed, and went broke ,by that time the fridge freezer was in transit and was delivered to my house .So far we have not been charged for it and I have had it in my kitchen for three and a half years.Needless to say the next one I buy will be frost free but as this one cost me nothing I shall keep it.I kept expecting to be billed for it or at least my DD getting the cash taken from her card but so far nothing has happened.
Off to the land of Nod now
    goodnight, God bless all here
