  • Mummysaver......sorry to hear the news about OH, is it def over or just a fall out? It is hard to build a relationship up at times when you have kids. Hugs to you whatever you decide. Good luck with the scan later.

No no -don't be scared you'll be fine! Just don't go wandering off down side streets and keep your wits about you like you would in any other city! I'm pretty sure that the hotel has an entrance either in Debenhams or Centrale so you won't be going too far. You're fine when you're in the shopping area anyhow.

Tell you what, I will pop down there on my lunch break and get a better idea of it for you xx

:hello: Good morning! and a very windy one it is too. It's our "bin day" and i always put a half-brick on top of the recycling boxes to make sure the lid doesn't blow away. Surely it's only common sense for the person who empties the box to put the half-brick in the empty box to make sure the box doesn't blow away? But no, they just chuck it down anywhere:confused: I hate having to hunt along the road for a bin or lid and hope the one i find is mine!

Happy Birthday vastsarah!:bdaycake:I hope you have a good day. So nice to have you posting again.

Aussielass -hope you're managing to relax after your busy time with DGS, and that you'll see him again soon. Best wishes to AussieLad - hope he gets better quickly and keeps the germs to himself :D

mummysaver - So sorry to read your news :( Hope the scan goes ok and that you get the results quickly.

Strange noises from upstairs - DS is getting a new mattress today so he had to manoeuvre (wow, didn't know I could spell that!) the old one out of his room and down the stairs! I'm quite (well, very) pleased as i went to a local firm for the new mattress and when the chap gave me a price I said I couldn't afford it, so he rang his boss at their other shop and got a "best price" which I was happy with. When I got home I had a look at the Argos website and found that comparable mattresses were quite a lot dearer. Nice to feel I got good value :j

Lunch today is the second half of carton of nice veg soup we brought back from France in June! Dinner - steak and ale pie, sadly not HM but I need a quickish meal today as I've got a meeting to go to at church about the music for Advent and Christmas. I think there will have to be a polite argument with our priest, as he wants readings and carols from 11.30 before Midnight Mass but the pianist and I really don't, as very few people get there before about 11.50 anyway. We'd rather she just played a medley of carols until it's time for the service to start.

Better go now so we can get out and back before the new mattress arrives - it's coming "after 12.00", though of course that could mean 5.00!

Mouse now in wheelie bin. A shame it's just been emptied. Anyway, double wrapped it and it's cold enough out so shouldn't be a problem. Will boobytrap again tonight and tape the door up. Sure it hasn't come in the door. We don't have a cat, but there are so many come through our garden that I don't know how the mouse has got that big!

Stopped by with MIL for a coffee on the way home from work. Nasty weather here as you might imagine. Going to tackle the jobs list I think before lunch and then maybe after lunch sort a few Christmas things out. A few outdoor jobs to do, but not today thanks!

Also tidy stuff away that I was sorting out when moving furniture to seal the floor. The floor that I've done looks good, still quite a lot to do, but not moving stuff round this weekend as Parents are staying. WIll have a week off that I think.

Must make some biscuits, there weren't any when they came the last twice.

Maybe I should stop rambling. Stay warm and dry if you can folks.

    Hug to mummysaver

    Happy Birthday to sarah:bdaycake:

DH drove me to York this morning to get blood levels checked for anti coagulants and did a quick shop for fruit, veg, fish etc on the way home as we go right past a Tesco.

Have suggested to DH he uses the cooked chicken for tea with some potatoes and veg for him and the girls.

Putting my feet up with a cup of tea while I browse on here as feel shattered already.

Feel in the mood to hand sew small Christmas stockings for DDs while I am convalescing but can't remember place I used to get nice remnants from by post.

The pjs I ordered for two of my DDs for Christmas have just arrived and the ones I ordered yesterday for another DD should be on the way here.:j

DH says I am looking better every day and has finally stopped looking at me as if I am an unexploded bomb, bless him.

    Hugs to everybody

    Lowesy

    Try halfpriceperfumes

    cosmetics direct
    or Cheap Smells

I have found all three websites very good in the past.

Or you could use a shopbot like kelcoo or pricerunner- type in the name of the aftershave etc and it will show you the best prices.
