Can I pop in and say hello? :hello:

It's really grey and gloomy outside. Heating is off. Radio 4 is on. Am wrapped in a blanket like a shawl. Electric airer is on and washing is on in machine. I'm hoping I can use the line in between showers. One more load to go then we are back ontop of the clothes washing again. (Sheets and towels haven't yet hit the radar!)

Big achievement of the morning is my vat of end-of-week soup which is making the house smell delicious and I should be able to get lots into the freezer. I kept trying to rewrite the words to 'Twelve days of Christmas' while I was making it. I'm sure there is a song in 'half a green cabbage, half a large celeriac, two parsnips, three onions, four leeks, seven potatoes, eleven large carrots' - this is what went into the pot. I'll get a winter soup song written eventually ('five garlic cloves' fits rather well instead of 'five golden rings') Anyway, all last week's left-over veg (except for half a cabbage saved for stirfry later in the week) has now been used.

Plans for the afternoon include lots of work and lots more cooking for today and tomorrow . My goal is two meals worth of stuffed courgettes (and mash for tonight); two lots of baked apples, one for tonight, one cold for tomorrow and BM banana bread to feed starving teenage sons who seem unable to reach the stage of feeling full atm.

Hugs (and crossed fingers) for all who need them.

Wasn't as bad as thought. Had rubber gloves on. one carrier inside another, piece of kitchen roll to pick the bu99er up with so I couldn't 'feel' it and that was it!

THey chose peanut butter and left the chocolate mostly alone. Just a scratch mark in it.

Good luck with scan mummysaver....sorry to hear your other news.

Chicken casserole for dinner today, might have couscous or quinoa with it instead of potatoes...we'll see. Washing will go on banisters and airers.

Hugs to all in need or want, welcome to newbies, have a good day all

Hehe well I know not to go down dark alley's etc. but knowing where to go before I actually get there helps and thanks..you don't have go down and check but IF you do..I'd be grateful :)

Right Nordic my dear, I've been to check! Your hotel isn't as far down from east croydon as I thought. You could walk it - it took me about 10 minutes but I walk fast and I'm not carrying a mountain of empty cases to fill with my spoils!! Personally I would get a cab just for sheer convenience.

In regards to closeness to Debenham's you've got a couple of options: you can either come out of the hotel onto Priddy's Yard, walk to the end of that turn left and you literally fall into Deb's or you come out of the hotel onto Frith Road turn right and either go in up the escalators through TK Maxx or carry on turn right into Keeley Road and go through the walkway into Centrale. A bit difficult to explain but if you go onto google maps I've found that all the road's I mentioned are marked and the hotel you're staying in is marked too. Failing that I'm sure the staff at the hotel will be able to direct you!

    HTH xx

    Hi all.

I'm back from sorting MIL's room at the care home out now & it looks lovely. SIL & I managed to get her clothes in, hung pictures & photos, put lovely fresh new bedding on, washed & arranged some favourite ornaments and left some flowers too. It has a real feel of her living room at her old flat so hopefully she'll be thrilled. SIL got a bit weepy which is understandable I'd feel the same if it was my Mum. The staff are lovely & nothing is too much trouble for them. We'll all be going back later once the hospital have released MIL  to help her settle in.

I also went food shopping on my way back and have got that all away now, although I still have to go to the market & Asda for a gammon joint & some cocoa powder respectively. The dogs were walked by DH - I'm glad as the weather here today is awful - wind, rain & it's so dark already

I have decided to have a very un-OS tea of chippy grin.gif as a treat and to save me cooking now. Normal service will be resumed tomorrow.

Mummysaver comforting.gif Sorry about you and ex OH and hope that the scan results come through quickly for you.

Vast Sarah foryou.gifHSthbdayparty-1.gif Hope that you are having a good one.

Off for a [STRIKE]time waste session on Facebook[/STRIKE] browse now so I hope that anyone who is poorly is looking after themselves & wrapping up warm and hugs to anyone who needs one xxx
