Mummysaver - hope scan goes OK and sorry to hear your relationship has ended xx

Rachel - hope your wisdom tooth infection clears up soon OUCH!

Elona - glad you're feeling better.

Just baked some cupcakes using my free silicone cupcake cases. Receipe said it makes 12. Well they were a bit full and I will have to cut the tops off a bit to ice them but not complaining.

Not so windy now thank goodness. Keeps trying to rain and it's a bit dark and dull. Still kids had fun at soft play and I can see DS running around outside at nursery from his bedroom (school is at end of garden :D). He looks like he's having a blast on the trikes.

    Have a good afternoon all.

    Afternoon all,

Well, today has been a write off. I have a lecture this afternoon too, so I'm not getting anything done.

I can't keep up with folksy - I went and posted two orders and got back to find another two. It's nice, but I don't think I can keep it up long term - I already have the job from hell in terms of hours (to put that into perspective - I worked 92 hrs last week - and that isn't that abnormal). Sometimes I feel I only go home to sleep.

I sorted out all the documents for my insurance company - and promptly forgot my driving license - so I can't post it until tomorrow. *sigh* Really wanted that out of the way.

Roast chicken for dinner last night, so chicken and mushroom pasta for tea tonight - trying to use up all the bits before the lab goes to Prague at the weekend (all nine of us!).

mummysaver - hug for you ((hug))
elona - glad you are feeling better
vastsarah - happy birthday! Hope you are having a great day.
    welcome broomstick

OH's estranged wife has just phoned me. I really don't know what to say now. I have never spoken to her before. I managed to keep my cool - I wasn't expecting that at all. I just said I wasn't prepared to speak to her without legal advice. :( *sigh* How she got my phone number I don't know.

I had other things to say, but I think I need to sit and think for a bit :( hugs, cel x

That's the best thing to say - then you don't run the risk of anything being misconstrued / misheard / twisted.

    Afternoon all :hello:

Been a horrible day here, cold, wet and very windy.

Havent been in for a few days, we were away for the weekend staying with DS1, DIL and DGD's, we had a great time as we normally do.

Not done much OSing but will be back on track tomorrow, starting with SC beef stew.

Still got loads of mushrooms marching all over the lawn, had a chat to one or 2 neighbours and they have them as well. OH was going to have a go at clearing them but it is far too muddy out there.
I love working in the garden in the dry but hate it when its soggy and wet.

Found some beefburgers in the bottom of the freezer so will have them with curly fries, onions and tomatoes for dinner tonight.

Havent read through yet so will do that later

  • Good afternoon all, well what I thought was going to be a pottering day changed when DD arrived with small grandson (Jack, 9) in tow. He's been a poorly boy for the past few days, but is going back to school tomorrow.DD said what did you want to do today, and as I am grateful for any help said straight off, 'I want to defrost my freezer please'.So bless her, we bagged up what was left in the freezer, and she carried it out to my conservatory. She is strong enough to pull it out from the wall to get behind it and switch it off, then she sat down in front of it and gamely chipped all the snow/frost away that has accumulated over the past three years:o.I have a slight mobility problem plus my right arm doesn't work quite as well as it used to, so I just kept her supplied with hot coffee and cake and she did all the hacking and bashing for me.I couldn't believe how much ice was in there.I now have a smashing roomy freezer which I can start to use to fill up with a few more bargains from the shops when I go at the week-end. Job done by 12.30. and she was going down to the local shopping centre so I said as she had done me a favour I would treat her and Jack to lunch. We got back around 2.30. and she shot off with her shopping and I have just done my freezer list to pin to the door of the freezer so I know exactlly what's in there and what shelf its on.
Braised steak for dinner tonight left over from last night, and I have got three chicken quarters in the SC at the moment for tomorrow's dinner plus some to portion up for the freezer now I have some room in there.
Isn't it daft what a small thing like defrosting the freezer can make me feel so cheerful,I'm a bit sad arn't I.Still onwards and upwards. No shopping to get for a couple of days which is good, plus I can now meal plan a bit better now I know exactly whats in there. Found all sorts of stuff I had forgotten about. Right I'm off now to sort out some kitchen drawers that are full of junk, definitely got the detoxing bug now my freezers looking tidy and neat
    Hugs to those feeling poorly
    Cheers JackieO xx

    Afternoon all.

    Happy Birthday Vastsarah.

    Welcome Broomstick.

    ((((Mummysaver))))
Redruby - sorry but have to lol.gif at little dog legging it back to the car and leaving you behind. Hope you both dried out soon......mmmm nothing like the smell of wet dog!
Actually I quite like the smell of Damp Dog - but I never claimed not to be weird!:rotfl:

 at the thought of purpleivy double wrapping a mouse.

I read somewhere that they love strawberry jam and it works really well in a trap.
I really must remember to put my 'puter specs on before coming on here - I read that as "they make lovely jam". Oh dear, that would be taking OS a step too far!:D

Still struggling to do all my tasks one-handed, so not much has got done today. Mr LW has offered to help make veggie bangers'n'mash when he gets in (ever tried peeling spuds one-handed?) so that'll be good.

Am using my time to plan tasks for the weekend; Mr LW has to be home all day Saturday, as they're doing some maintenance at his w*rk and he has to be available to log in and shut down/restart systems when required, so I've suggested a major overhaul of our filing system, archive some old stuff, and shred some really ancient stuff, type of thing. It'll keep us out of mischief.:D

I hope everyone's OK with all these high winds we've been having; ((((HUGS)))) to all who want/need one today.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY VastSarah:bdaycake:
sistercas - Happy belated Birthday to you :D

JackieO - sad maybe but here's another one ;) I think most of us get a kick out of doing (or having done) the time consumming and messy things Your DD is a :starmod: I just hate doing mine, but its on the way out (its 12yrs old) so a new one is on the cards, a taller one thats frost free this time :j

mummysaver - so sorry to hear about you and OH breaking up, its awful when this happens and a lot of tears and heartache follow, but its good if you can stay friends. Hope the scan went ok.

celyn - not easy is it but good for you for keeping your cool, I think you handled it just right

SunnyGirl - well done to you and SIL for making MIL's room her own, I am sure when she comes out she will feel at home with her bits and pieces around her, I know my MIL did when we moved her to a warden controlled flat, so did my Mum when we moved her into sheltered housing last year. It's so important with older people that they feel at home when they move and it makes settling in so much easier with their own things about them.

    Welcome to you Broomstick

Off to put the fries in and start the burgers off.
Enjoy the rest of the evening all
