Obviously we will need to enter into a DMP but I dont know if they would look at it too kindly if I resign.

why is that obvious? all these companies do is write you an SOA then send letters (which can be found on here) to your creditors enclosing a copy of the SOA and making a pro-rata offer.

if you are going to be off work you can do this yourself, not get an IVA (individual voluntary arrangement) on your credit file and not have a "middle man" either taking a cut or trying to push you in a direction you don't want to go.

as you are off work you could spend a couple of hours polishing your CV this morning and a couple of hours emailing it to agencies this afternoon.

with a bit of luck that will resolve the problem before it starts!

Spud - honestly, i would say forget them and move on to pastures new

(obviously if you can get a payout from them through ACAS or whatever then you should persue that)

Keep your chin up spud, ring the dole office & make your appointment to sign on, ring ACAS, polish your Cv, make appointments to register with some agencies (from experience, Hays, Manpower and PerTemps are pretty good), and enjoy some rest in the sun! You will wonder how you had time to work!

Seriously though, it is a very draining experience - ranks in top 5 on the stress list - so take some time to get your head around it & to recover from the shock & stress of the situation.

    Hi Sammy,

Yes I was up most of the night. I have also been to the doc this morning. He gave me painkillers for m back, and some sleeping tablets. Hopefully the painkillers will do the trick and I will be able to get some sleep, but if not will try the sleeping pills.

I'm so sorry to hear that you are going through a tough time too, and the offer of being my Tribunal Buddy was so kind of you.

I know it's going to be tough, but I really feel I need to clear my name.

I know its not ideal or anything but could you get a job at somewhere like a supermarket to tide you over until this is sorted out.
I'd get in touch personally with any creditors you have and explain to them the situation, if you have any insurance cover will it help in this case for anything. Sorry to hear about your back, being tense probably does help.

    Hi

Just to say I've been there, just waiting for my settlement, had a temp boss who was a complete idiot and he couldn't cope with his job - 2 years of bullying hell for no apparent reason, bosses wouldn't listen to me and finally I did an official grievance against him and they turned it into me being put on gross misconduct for complaining about him!!! Everyone in dept said he was bad at his job.

You will get through this, yes, it's tough but you will get through this, you will probably land up in a better job too. My bully has been there 15+ years I had been there nearly 4. I'm glad to say new boss is now ignoring 4 members of staff (including bully) and they don't like it - she's only been there 4 weeks!

I had an operation on shoulder 2 years ago and that's when the bullying started - I was then tensing my shoulder so they claim I'm off due to shoulder not bullying at work.

get as much info as possible and take that with you to ACAS.

Sending you positive thought, and chin up don't let the b******s grind you down.

    Hi Floss,

I'm ashamed to say I don't even have a CV. Last time I applied for a job, you filled in a form.

Now I feel really old and out of touch !!!

    Thanks KG,

I'm amazed how many people have been though, or are going through a similar experience.

So much is said about school bullies, but no-one ever mentions that they grow up and carry on the same way in the workplace.

I think your local job centre would be able to help with a cv, or look at www.jobcentreplus.gov.uk there maybe some help on there.

    Thanks HQ,

I can almost see the wording now......

Dismissed from the only permanent job I ever had for gross misconduct. I bet people will be queueing up to hire me !!!
