Hi Spud,
Just put down all the stuff you've done in your workplace in a CV and see what things you have done and you'll probably be amazed how many things you've accomplished in 22 years. You will probably have a more manageable back pain in a week or two when the stress has calmed a bit.
They still have the application forms - CV's are a bit easier when you do a basic one and then change them a bit for every job. I get anxious with the application forms!!!
I had a call off an agency who had seen my CV on a website the evening before and they contacted me and asked if I'd go for a job they had advertised - said yes but it's early days currently (only sent it on Wednesday) - if I get the job I'd be my contractor's boss!!!!Even has a nearly 50% pay increase too but I'd have to relocate which I'm willing to do anyway.
Imagine the boss' face if I were succesful in getting job and just walk into my old workplace and tell them what to do!!! :j
Suggest you do your CV then put it on various agency website and get a few alerts and then go from there, they've probably done you a favour as you'll probably get a better more suitable job down the road.

Thanks KG,
Good luck with getting your job. 50% pay increase would be fantastic, But being your boss's boss would be soooo much better !!!
I will have a go at doing a CV. The doc advised that I take some time out before trying for new jobs due to the stress of recent months, and the tribunal to come.
I'm jealous - North Wales is my favourite place !!!

Spud, with your CV, have a section where you list skills, like organised, reliable, and also what you can do like proficient in Word, and just think through all your jobs listing skills and qualities. It will be a big list and that should inspire you!!
Employers are more interested in what you can do than what oyu have done if you get me, although obviously list your jobs, it's the skills that are most important, and also transferable so don;t stick yourself in a particular job-shaped box as you might see from your list that you could do lots of other things too! DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Hi Spud,
You don't have to distubute your CV for a while but a friend of mine who was being bullied - worked at the same place for 22 years like you and first job from school did his and thought WOW look at what I've accomplished, he sent it to one place and got an interview but was too experienced - he went back to his old job and the bully has been severely warned by his bosses.
Remember, having kids and juggling around them is also a positive thing to put on a CV, have you been involved with voluntary work? PTA or something in your community? That's a bonus too. You could also temp somewhere and although you may get a mundane job it will get you back on your feet enough to be able to get back to work - when your feeling up to it.
Alas if I'm succesful in getting the new job I would have to relocate, although I'm willing to do as I wouldn't be able to get that salary around here until I have a bit more experience so would be able to come back in later life (hopefully) as a department manager. The new job if succesful would mean travelling all around UK which I would enjoy too. Just fingers and everything else crossed for it I suppose. It would be funny though working with this firm and having to go back and work with my old workplace - my contractors were great anyway and really supportive when they realised why I was leaving - they would probably be one of first lot I'd go and phone to say "HI! I'm your new boss and I'm going to tell you what to do / not to do! Don't tell work though want it to be a surprise" :rotfl:

Hi spud,
you need to prepare now for the appeal.
It sounds like there is a decent case here, beleive me, they really aren't anything to be frightened of. Sorry i never advised your original case.
Before the appeal write the following
Name
Payroll Number
etc
etc
Dear
I am writing to clarify certain issues in order to take my appeal forward.
Before I attend the appeal i require copies of the following :-
1) A copy of the companies disciplinart procedure. Employment law states this should have been presented to me in reasonable time before my initial hearing, so i could prepare a defence. This failed to happen. Can you pinpoint me where it states in our companies policy and procedure that you can neglect to provide me with a copy of this policy?
2)I require copies of all witness or other statements, all documentary evidence and any other papers in relation to my case under the principles of natural justice. By not giving me this evidence from the beginning of your allegations against me, you have hindered my chances of success in this hearing, this again is a breach of employment law.
3) Can you please provide me with a copy of the exact policy and procedure for the company where it states losing these papers is an act of gross misconduct?
4) (only if you haven't yet) I require a detailed submission from yourselves detailing full reasons as to why i was dismissed, you have 2 weeks under employment law to provide this, it is needed as evidence in my tribunal hearing.
When you get the above, can advise further, if you wanna meet up and i can go through all your stuff properly, let me know if you think it would help. Also happy to come to the tribunal if possible.0 -
Hi spud,
just been going through my notes, another couple of things.
A conduct dismissalis based on your misconduct, however Employers, by law, must make it clear what they regard as misconduct.
So, if it has never been laid down in company procedures that losing these papers is gross misconduct.
Also, for gross misconduct, your employer has to :-
Show the tribunal that they had reason to beleive the employee was guilty, that there was reasonable grounds for that belief, and that they have carried out a full and fair investigation, which they obviously haven't.
I think we need to write to your appeals officer, with a written submission before your appeal. I don't mind putting a full one together and you can just email it to them if you like.0
