I accept that like any paper, it can be inaccurate at times, but in the areas I am familar with it is frighteningly accurate.
What of this? Well, over all this time there have been countless stories of corrupt practise at Central and Local government in the Eye.
These stories haven't diminished under Labour. Not in the slightest.
In fact, for anyone who is interested read up on the civil servants who became millionaires through the sale of Actis to themselves. It's more shocking than the expenses affair in my view.0 -

Presumably these wealthy socialists are right on:
T Blair
Lord Falconer
Lord Ahmed
Keith 6 houses Vass
Barbara Follet - multi millionaire
Tony McNulty - wife snares £300k pa of state money
Duffle coat wearing uber socialist, Donald Dewar's estate was worth £6m - you know the one that deliberatly gave the impression he was an ordinary bloke.
Then there's all those right on liberals at the beeb - the dimbleby's, k wark and many more trousering over £500k pa from the day job alone.
Ben Elton worth tens of millions - what a right on bloke eh
Frank £2m per year Skinner

to be honest the whole system of democracy is an illusion especially in the uk, to keep the populous happy whilst we toil and pay taxes to prop up the elite rich and the politicians who rule us (and also get rich).
Realistically only one of two partys can win an election in the UK, neither of which we the sheep can choose the leader of. Both partys have been in power recently neither have done what you can call a stellar job. Even if only 1% voted the whole corrupt system would continue. Every 5 odd years we mark a piece of paper shouting "aint democracy great" and yet nothing changes, we pay a bit more tax, loose a bit more civil liberties, have to work a bit more harder.0 -

Here's a start.
They said no more boom and bust. And we've had both.
They said no tuition fees and guess what.
They said they wouldn't raise income tax and they have (and NI too).
Tough on crime, tough on the causes of crime. Good grief.
But most of all it is this:
They inherited a strong economy. The economy then grew for over 10 years whilst they were in power. All that growth. Billions and billions and billions in tax revenue. And yet we were in debt. We were in debt BEFORE the recession started.
I wouldn't trust Gordon Brown with my child's piggy bank, but that shyster and liar is running the country.
This website - moneysaving expert. We should all know what it takes to be efficient with money and not spend what you don't have. How anyone on here can support Labour when they do quite the opposite is unbelievably hypocritical.0 -

you forget the two biggies, the single biggest erosion of civil liberties in the history of the UK, and the single biggest erosion of UK sovereignty by signing us up to a Ferderal Republic Europe with a supreme President to rule over us, oh and lying about the referendum (with the hope that by doing so Tony gets first dibs)
but they have done some good, they banned fox hunting, smoking and allowed us to go shopping on a sunday0 -

You got to admit it will be quite humerous to have the Tories win the election and then Blair made president and back in charge :rotfl: I totally agree with you about the erosion of civil liberties (but I do agree with the smoking ban).'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. SHYSTER someone who acts in a disreputable, unethical, or unscrupulous way, especially in the practice of law and politics.
What have they done that is disreputable, unethical or unscrupulous and what would have the Tories have done differently?A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step

Leopards rarely if ever change their spots.
If it looks like a Tory toff:

acts like a Tory toff:

but of course, desperately pretends not to be:

and lies like a Tory toff:

... then, quite likely, we are dealing with a Tory toff.
A cabinet full of Old Etonian privilege and multi-millionnaires? Well, yoiks and tally ho. Look no further for a reason why repeal of hunting bans is right up there on the agenda...0 -
They inherited a strong economy.
As far as I am aware even after losing nearly 6% of GDP, GDP is no where near the levels of 1997. There are less people unemployed now and more people in employment than in 1997.The economy then grew for over 10 years whilst they were in power. All that growth. Billions and billions and billions in tax revenue. And yet we were in debt. We were in debt BEFORE the recession started.
