Goodness, isn't it just as well that all the current Labour crowd led such unblemished and virtuous lives during their formative years. One wonders when they had the chance to evolve so completely into the bunch of deplorable shysters they have proved themselves to be....

Class war eh? That'll be fun to watch!

So why do you think they are deplorable shysters? Evidence?

  • Cameron DID keep the promise. He promised to allow a referendum before any treaty was ratified.

He kept that promise throughout UNTIL the treaty was ratified. He cannot do anything more now. He has broken no promise. The treaty is now ratified and that's that, nothing more can be done.

To break a promise he would have had to promise it, and then go back on his promise. That has not been done.

I believe you know this, but are taking the opportunity of using smear tactics and hoping it works.

    Harry help me out?

    Mr Devon - I don't care!

Presumably these wealthy socialists are right on:

    T Blair
    Lord Falconer
    Lord Ahmed
    Keith 6 houses Vass
    Barbara Follet - multi millionaire
Tony McNulty - wife snares £300k pa of state money

Duffle coat wearing uber socialist, Donald Dewar's estate was worth £6m - you know the one that deliberatly gave the impression he was an ordinary bloke.

Then there's all those right on liberals at the beeb - the dimbleby's, k wark and many more trousering over £500k pa from the day job alone.

Ben Elton worth tens of millions - what a right on bloke eh
    Frank £2m per year Skinner

Are the Kinnocks still on 500k a year + expenses over in Europe?

Most (if not all of these) are not in the Cabinet. Few (if any) were born in to money.

I think, for me, they are "right on" as you put it. When you have experienced real life or even poverty you can at least relate to it. If you are born into great wealth and only experience life at Eton, followed by Oxbridge, how can you relate to the man in the street?

Maybe  But you can't argue that the Neil and Glenys had anything other than very regular up-bringings?

So does it actually matter if we elect people from the "upper classes"? Will they act in the interests of everyone?
    You know what?

I don't think there is a party in existence which will act in the interests of everyone.

It's a myth. The Tories have their well-funded benefactors, and the Labour crew have the unions.

Both providers of funds have an agenda. They act in their own interests before others.

I'd kind of hope that someone who made millions investing their own money wisely would apply a similar philosophy and rigour to our money / the public money.

And it is our money, lest we forget, not some abstract public purse.

This is where its fallen down, its our money not there's (the expense scandal showed there true attitude) and there public servants not rulers/royalty over the public

the whole systems a mess and i suspect anyone going into it will be either corrupted by the system or tied up by 400 years of rules and protocol so that the status que can not be changed.

nothing will change till we wipe the slate clean and start with a new system and that includes removing the self serving civil service who prop up the dog and pony show to ensure there 250k salaries, final salaried pensions and peerages for doing there bloody (over payed) job ...

    You are kidding.....right?

SHYSTER someone who acts in a disreputable, unethical, or unscrupulous way, especially in the practice of law and politics.[1]

Have you read a paper/watched the news in the last 12 years? Or did you just switch off after they all sang 'Things can only get better' around the victory podium?
Go round the green binbags. Turn right at the mouldy George Elliot, forward, forward, and turn left....at the dead badger
