You were one of the lucky ones! Hopefully you will take those close to you out for dinner so they can still share the discounts! :T

I am enjoying all these complaints. Keep them coming. Entertaining stuff.

If anybody from Taste is reading this. Might it be a better idea for everyone to send an email instead of relying on the website?
  • Just got through like the others above, same message, and am convinced I'll get a month's membership.

When they did an offer like this before, NOTHING said anything about only getting a month until after completing the form and getting the email.

The promotional message at the start of this thread says "After they’ve all gone, anyone who enters their details will get a one month trial membership instead (it will say clearly which one you’re getting)." Well, the page said "we're giving away 2000 free annual memberships", the page after filling in the form says "the offer is open...Thank you for entering your details. The lucky 2,000 winners will receive notification via email in the next few days. All memberships, annual or monthly, will be dispatched within the next 14 days. We hope you enjoy being part of the dining revolution! Go to the tastelondon homepage to see which restaurants are participating". Nowhere before or after is there any mention of they'd run out, so as per the above I should have won a year's membership right? We'll see...

Don't get me wrong, a month is still a good offer and I've enjoyed a great Italian meal in Enfield that I would never have tried if it wasn't for their month trial and their site (which has a good mobile version too), but having been given a month before on a promotion that said nothing about it being for a month, I'm just a little cynical about their marketing tactics.

    Fingers crossed, and keep trying...

Please, please, please take legal action, hire a lawyer and spend months collecting evidence and take them to court! IT MAKES SENSE THAT YOU DESERVE A PRODUCT WORTH £70 FOR FREE BY FILLING OUT AN ONLINE FORM!!

There's always one uneducated ignorant muppet on the forums.. WTG Teggun you are todays winner!!!
  • I have tried since just before 12 noon until now to get into the Taste london give away but it just keeps coming up saying page not available, it is really annoying as I now stand no chance at all of winning one, the link must not be working, and I have tried my connectivity on my computer and its not that.!
  • The tastlondon website went down at 12:00 today and has been down since! I rang their helpline (which I happened to have by chance) and was told that indeed the website is down and that we should keep refreshing the page until it works again. When?? As of when will they start counting the first 2000 applicants?? What guarantees do we have that this is not just a marketing trick? They refused to register me on the phone. 33 min later the website is still not responding, shame...

Rubbish! I have been in IT for 20 years and you plan extra capacity for this, to say some of the biggest sites go down when there is extra demand is to be totally uneducated and ignorant of the facts.

Well done for clearly bluffing your way through your career.

As a regular concert goer I know first hand that the same thing happens to the ticketmaster and a multitude of other ticket websites when popular tickets go on sale. They can often be down for hours.

You can ask anyone who's ever tried to get a travelodge room at 6pm during the sales how often that goes down. What of the Next site during sales?

I could go on, but I think I'll summarize by saying - you're talking rubbish.

    yo dude i got one,
what does your confirmation email read?
  • I agree that people outside of London shouldn't be able to enter. A London postcode should be a pre-requisite. There are similar cards that have a nationwide remit.
