It might have worked, if only people from the south east had tried to get one.. Ive noticed that some of the people complaining on here about not getting one, are from Derby, Coventry, etc
    GREEDY PEOPLE
What a stupid thing to say! We could say that people in the South East earn more therefore don't need a discount card so leave them for the rest of us low income earners! If you offer something for free, you have to expect that everyone is entitled to enter!

Really, I don't think MSE should have publicised this without asking the company the question: Can you cope with c. 4m people receiving knowledge of this promotion when it's sent in an email to them?

The website is down, and not only does it generate bad PR for the company involved, it is disappointing for anyone who took time to try to get it.

I can be in france in just over 1 hr and a half, but i wouldnt go for a cheap pizza as the cost of getting there would make the meal expensive.

  • I accept that I always look out for a freebie but promotions like this are designed to generate custom and goodwill. Causing annoyance and irritation to so many of us loyal Moneysavers is likely to secure neither.
  • Entered my details in under a minute after the countdown ended, and only now got the next page to load. It reads:

Thank you for entering your details. The lucky 2,000 winners will receive notification via email in the next few days. All memberships, annual or monthly, will be dispatched within the next 14 days. We hope you enjoy being part of the dining revolution!

Until I receive actual email confirmation, I doubt I've been successful though...

Yet another dubious promotion by Taste London to harvest email addresses - wouldn't trust them further than I could throw them!

What they don't seem to understand is that treating people like this is actually damaging their 'brand'.
Utter and total nonsense. Some of the biggest sites out there crash when there is too much demand, that's simply the nature of the internet for you.

I think you're being a little naive. Some of the biggest sites out there also use promotions like this to harvest email addresses, which they can then sell on. That's also the nature of the internet for you.

I think their point was that if they are in London anyway (shopping, theatre, work etc) it makes sense! :)
