Avira AntiVir - got a problem with laptop
Comments
-
Have just run the Avast and it says:
File c:\Programe Files\Roxio\Roxio MyDVD Basic v9\videocore g\DeInter.ax is infected by Win32:Trojan-gen
Can you please tell em what to do? gives list options do I just delete?
Thanks0 -
Remove it
Download and run the FREE version of DR WEB
http://www.freedrweb.com/download+cureit/gr/
It will auto QUICK scan
After that set to scan the WHOLE computer and press the 'play' icon
***DO NOT UPGRADE TO FULL VERSION***:idea:0 -
Ooops I ended up yesterday pressing `1` for delete and then the programme carried on checking the system, it took ages but nothing else seemed to be flagged up. I got the registration number and inputted that. It doesn`t seem as easy as Avira to get around but as long as it works!
Do you recommend I still download the DR WEB thingie?
Please can I also ask another question: since all this stuff started happening when the laptop is started up we get pop up box that says - Windows has blocked some programmes which require permission to run and when I click on it a Windows Defender box comes up and it gives a big list and says View or Manage important security-related areas of the computer using. Software Explorer.
Boxes across bottom are to Refresh / show for all users / Remove / Delete
I`ve never seen this before in the 2 years she has had the laptop.

Id definitely still recommend running the FREE version of dr web to see if it picks anything up
Defender ~ you need to determine WHAT is being blocked (Id guess its a part of malwarebytes which they will hopefully have fixed when they release the next version):idea:0 -
I`ve done the scan and it showed no viruses, do you think thats it now?
With regard to the Defender do we have to just put up with it for the time being? or can I delete it or stop it popping up?
Many thanks, as always I am very grateful for the help and advice0 -
You can remove whatever it is from starting up by opening up CCLEANER and going to TOOLS and START UP:idea:0
