Id recommend downloading Avira to your desktop
Disconnect from net
remove BOTH Avira and Avast
Then reinstall Avira:idea:0 -
Hi
Thanks have removed Avast. So thought I would do Avira scan again and its stuck this time at 21.4%, won`t go any further. Any ideas please? thought with all the help you have given me it was sussed... really sorry to say its still playing up.
Can`t do any more tonight as need to get ready for work in the morning but will try anything when I get in at lunch time.
I am very grateful for all everyones help, thank you so much.
Many thanks to0 -
As youve had a trojan ~
Please run COMBOFIX
Follow the simple instructions it gives
Post the COMPLETE log it creates here (Split into sections if need be)
If it comes up with a RENAMING error then RIGHT click the exe file and RENAME and call it QWERTY (Making the complete file name 'QWERTY.exe') Or SAVE as 'QWERTY' on download:idea:0 -
Hi aliEnRIK only just seen your posting sorry, I`ve got Avira on my desktop. I`ll remove everything from daughters laptop when I get in tomorrow then re-install it and see what happens.
Thankyou.0 -
Hi aliEnRik
I have just removed Avira fromthe laptop and gone into COMBOFIX but am a little unsure as it says shouldn`t run it without help and it could lead to problems with the normal functionality of the computer. I think I`m a bit frightened and it looks too much for me to mess with, also scared of what I might do it I press something wrong... help please don`t want to mess up laptop any more than it is. Thanks0 -
Combofix is easy as pie. As youve already removed most of the nasties it should run no problem
Switch off avira first (RIGHT click the umbrella symbol and UNTICK the guard)
Then simply let it run
You may need to reboot your computer and router at the end but thats the only problem ive ever seen:idea:0 -
Hi I have just got error box saying cannot rename ComboFix please use another name but not sure where to right click to rename it, sorry this is making my brain hurt.0
