£2714 in a month is amazing, congrats

Well a couple more credit card payments came out today, taking me up to £1971, so I have paid another £29 online to make it a nice round £2k this month. :)

If we could keep this up, the debt would be gone in no time, sady, it will slow down after this. Still a good first month to get the ball rolling

Well done everyone for getting through one of the hardest months of the year  - remember even a little overpayment will save you money in the long run through reducing interest one debt, or adding interest to your savings.

Right, just done end of month looking at accounts with OH - just transferred £1000 from current account to savings and £300 from mortgage accounts to savings too - £1300 to add!! :j:beer: :DThe £300 is because we have been rounding up our payments, and also because I paid upfront for insurance this year, but still had larger monthly amount going to mortgage account. :o I realise i have counted some money twice this month as listing when earnt and when transferred to savings. It was only a few quid but will now just update sig at end of month (transfer time) and list during the month when have made noticeable savings, without updating sig.

This is more than we saved the whole of last year! :j:j:j

We have been very tight on groceries this month, only £200 instead of nearly £400 last year. We have barely been out, but I must say I did spend £130 on that hen night:eek:, and £135 on a weekend away for both of us for friends thirtieth :o. Have not really been out at all apart from that to make up! ;)

Night out now at cinema to see precious to celebrate. Picked the cheapest cinema in central London, having dinner at home, taking own snacks and drinks.:money:

Please everyone keep posting about what has made/saved you the most money, it keeps me motivated. You are all:A
    Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89
    OPs 2011-2016 = £45K 2017 OPs = £9250.20
  • Well done on you first months totals everyone!

I've just got back from giving myself an end of month treat. I went to the cinema to watch Avatar. I don't usually go to the cinema because I really dissagree with the cost but I'd heard so much about the movie that I just had to go see it and it was worth every pennie!!! If you're planning to treat yourself I highly reccomend it! :T

Have just finished an early shift at hospital, so it is nice to know that it has earnt me about £100, so that will be good to pay towards debt, must phone them on Friday to get more shifts.

I still don't know where to put the other £100 I have, but I think I will wait until beginning of feb so that I start the month well, which will be a good incentive for me, some good motivation to start the month well.

I was feeling rather down about only paying off just under £500 in January, but even if that's all I can manage each month then it is still £500 more than I was doing and it will still be a nice total at the end of the year. Hopefully it will be more though.

    Hi all

well done on all the totals this month :j

    Managed to pay £728 today.

I have done some overtime last 3 weekends but won't count that until I see it in the pay packet and have it to pay off some more debt lol.

Thank you Shadydaz for keeping the totals and inspiring us all :T

Have to join in on all the well dones! There are some pretty impressive figures guys, keep it up!

I'm away on a residential with school next week (eek!) so will catch up with finances and payments and update when I'm back. At least I'm being fed for a week even if I do have to put up with 36 hyper 11 year olds!
Wandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...
