    Don't worry,

It's not a competition, you can only do what you can do at the end of the day. £700 a month is a monsterous amount, some people only earn that.

I have made a good start but will struggle to pay anywhere near that every month from now on.

    Hey

Haven't been on much lately and am doing badly for not being on MSE.... i just keep spending money :o

I have managed to pay £690.15 towards my debts this month which is not as good as it could have been. The worse thing is that when i take of all the interest charged it only works out as a net amount of £392.53 then taking off what i have actual spent it would bring it down to £242.53 which is really disappointing.

I said at the start that i am going to put down what i have actually paid towards the debt and im going to keep doing that. It will show me at the end of the year just how much interest i have paid.

So am going to update my signature with the £690.15 as that is what all the companies have received from me so far in January..... hope this makes sense..... not sure if it does to me yet!

We have set a date for the wedding and are now trying to save up for that too which is throwing a bit of a spanner in the works trying to do that and repay all my debt but at least if i can continue to pay the minimum payments and a bit extra when i can and also save for the wedding then my debt shouldn't have to increase because of it.

Glad to read all the good posts where people are really making great progress with this challenge..... i need to get focused and try and update more

Quick update just made various payments to round down balances on credit cards and have paid an extra £4.50 making my total now £694.65

Are you still making our minimum payments Knitty78? That counts towards you total too if you want it to?

Yes but I'm still in a negative amount - I wanted to clear £10,000 off my debts by the end of the year.

I now have 19 items listed on ebay though and i haven't even touched the stuff in my ebay cupboard! And OH has an interview on Thursday so fingers crossed I'll be able to transfer that £600 and get myself back on track.

Luckily I have another 11 months to catch up!

    good luck for hubby

right not been on in a while as i have had nothing to report, as there is only 1 wage coming into the house, its a struggle to make extra payments, but, but my debt has not risen at all this year so far, and long may that continue, and so far i have had 15 nsd,
so, if i keep up with the NSD, hopefully at the end of the month, i will have extra to pay off

good luck to all and keep up the good work
If we can put a man on the moon...how come we cant put them all there?

    Hi all

Shady sorry to hear about your mum- hopefully you'll be able to get there soon.

I have bought a new car - £1750 so £250 under budget. I'd love to put that in my pot but we have a half finished en suite so I we need to use it to finish that.

The insurance is double what I was paying before though - fortunately we've just paid off our electric arrears so have saved £50 a month so we are still making a saving.

    Happy monday all

    xx

  • A whole £5.08 for me to add today- cheque received from music magpie. I will just count the whole pounds though...

I have to say- have been more than impressed with Envirophone, Music Magpie and Mazooma mobile. Each company have sent me payment within a week! In the case of Mazooma it was actually 2 days- I posted my old phone on a Thurs and had a cheque in my post on Sat! For anyone who has old phones/CDs/DVDs lying around, these companies have been fab with me. Don't forget quidco! :T

Well done to those posting who have added to their totals, or have paid debts off :)
This challenge really is fab. Just wish I got paid more though. I also have stuff to list on ebay that I should really get round to doing.

Grrr, sent my wages from new A&L account on Thursday with the intention of paying off a big chunk of overdraft, but it still asn't arrived in old account. So no more payments for me yet.
