    Evening all,

Not had chance to read and catch up on thread at min though I guess most people still waiting for payday. Mine's on Monday! Phew!

Had two pleased letters in the post today, one from musicmagpie with a cheque for £11.03 and one with my old CC statement showing that the balance had been paid off and all I now owe is this months interest £28.82. Eek! I was wasting that much before!

Thanks for all the motivation to keep going! :A
Wandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...

I LOVE this thread. I'm astounded at people signatures - it looks like we are averaging paying/saving £800 each so far this month. That's pretty incredible.

And it's bringing out my competitive streak...I'm constantly trying to think of ways to bring my totals up faster.

*goes off to check spreadsheet for third time this evening* :rotfl:

banwa i totaly agree with you!!! it's so addictive paying off money! much more addictive than spending the damn money in the first place!!!

No payments for me today, but I had listed all my DVD's (about 45) on Amazon marketplace and have sold 6 already :j but my god amazon fees are extortionate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also it's my birthday tomorrow _party_ so hoping to get money from my parents and whoever, which i will use as "my money" for as long as i can stretch it out and all my spare wages can go on debts....

am going to get eyebrows waxed today as a b'day treat, it costs £9.50 and i'm already re-thinking whether to go or not!! £9.50 to me seems like soooo much money at the moment!!! considering I can make £20 last a hole month!!!

Have you thought about threading? It costs me £2.50 to get them done and ive heard there are places that charge £1.75.

  • Today was payday (at last!!) and I've finally been able to update my signature. Today I've paid off £1,052.36 yayyyyy!

I'll have to behave for another month now cos I'm nearly skint, but I'm finding it really strange how satisfying it is to see these figures coming down. I think I've just become another convert to obsessive moneysaving!!

Everyone is doing really well :T

Pay day today and the extra £300 I used to pay off debts has had to go in my savings account for the second month running. OH has given me enough money to cover the bills till the end of February but until he gets another job I need to keep that money there just in case. I really feel like I've hit a wall in paying back the debt but until we get that second income we're stuck. Hopefully he'll get something soon and that money can go towards debt as originally intended.

Yes I think I have Halifax to thank for focusing my mind too. It's really brought home the urgency to pay off the overdraft (and we have 3, two of which are always in the £2 a day bracket:eek:). Anyway, I got a bonus this month so am hoping to reduce one the overdrafts by £1000 :j in the next couple of days. So watch out for a v excited banwa
