    I've paid another 88 GBP.

    Total now 2,552/10,000 GBP.

Probably no more updates until the end of the month - that's when we do our big payments from our "leftovers"! Payday is twice a month (15th for me, last day for OH), but I'm too panicky to wipe us out after my payday as rent is in the second half. :)

This has been an excellent motivator - thanks for coming up with the idea and for tracking it. :T

    Hi Guys,

Been a bit of a quiet weekend for me with the wife at work last night and all day today, so tidy up "le jardin" and sorted out Salt and Pepper (Our chickens).

It has taken me since Aug last year but the bank have finally closed the overdraft. It has only taken numerous phone calls, three trips to the branch, three application forms, Another phonecall and a letter of written instruction! Now for the other one.

Roll on Wednesday when the extra weekly payments start taking effect and my target will be constantly chipped away at. :D
Was in debt £23k- Not now (12/07-12/10):T
Did smoke- Not any more (26-02-11):j
I am not perfect but everyone loves a trier don't they??:A
  • Hi folks,
I too like Shadydaz have been in the garden today, cleaning out rabbits and generally tidying up. Never thought I'd be excited by the sight of grass, but after all that snow it feels almost like springlike! Ooooh I would love to have chickens, but unfortunately no money available for initial outlay; a friend of mine has three and the eggs are really lovely. Have spent the evening listing items on Ebay (yawn..) fingers crossed for some more cash rolling in tho :D

Id like chickens, but I have two Staffords...I don't think the chickens would last long!!

Should be getting the money for my car tomorrow...all well and good except I can't find another car! i've become so absorbed in paying off my debts I begrudge paying even £1500 for a car! Sadly I do need one tho so another day of looking for one. I so sick of it!

  • D'oh! forgot to list stuff on eBay yesterday. I think I may be comming down with something I've just been so dozy and tired the past few days. Seeing the sun and being able to go to bed without every blanket in the house and a hot waterbottle is helping though. Roll on spring.

Not a very happy bunny today. On of my fancy rats (an ancient black irregulare hooded dumbo) is not looking well and having trouble breathing. Rats are prone to breathing problems so I've got to get him to the vet. Pore little boy, it's always the ones that wouldn't hurt a fly who get the nesty illnesses :(

Had a really crappy weekend :(
Went to see a house and it was such a let down... so will be staying with the folks for a bit longer :( Things not good with the OH and have hurt my arms and head :(
Still nothing paid but I have made £20 off ebay sales and my auctions are still running up until 8. So fingers crossed somethig will go well :)

I have decided to use my over draft to pay off some of my credit card as I pay £13 a month for it and don't use it!! (can't chnage it yet because we are looking at morgages :( )

Oh no, Im sorry! I hope things perk up.

Glad to see everyone doing so well! January being January, I don't expect to have too much to put aside at the end of the month before pay day, but I've increased my regular DD to £700 to reflect my pay raise this year. Slowly but surely, I guess...

A quick general update, in the hope it helps fellow challengers:
    * Wahanda are doing daily mob deals, just booked a haircut for £15, voucher valid for 6 months. I normally pay about £30 for a haircut, so when use the voucher will transfer the extra cash to our savings.
    * house party on Saturday night for a friend who has emigrated to Australia and got married. Got a bottle of Piper champagne down to £20 in tesco, plus used some gift cards from Tesco gained for complaining in the past - total cost was under a tenner.
    * given £25 as a belated Xmas present from OH dad (will add this now to signature)
    * found an old phone broken, worth £2.50! Will send off this week and add money when it arrives. At least it will be recycled!
    * sold another book on Amazon, probably about a £2 profit which will add once been to post office.
    * listed £120 worth of items on ebay - decided to try them for a high price first as there was free listing. No watchers or bids yet, but at least it didn't cost me anything to list them.

  • I am reading all the messages below and it's keeping me very motivated so thanks to all!:T

Made more progress on the weekend.

Cleared my OD as my tennant finally paid her rent. (about time!)

Cleared small CC as I balance transferred the remainder to my 0%, so although that has gone up, and I had to pay a fee, overall debt should go down quicker now. Not doing too badly.

Won't have much more to report until the end of the month when I will clear out all that remains in my account to pay off another bit.
