Hi Nicki and congrats on your first post! This is the start of your debt free path!
Ive never done one but I think you can post you statement of affairs on the Debt Free Wannabies board (just start a new thread) and then people can take a look and see if theres anywhere you could cut back.
I hope Ive got that right and it helps and good luck chick.

Dont worry about your total too much, just set a target you know you can hit - nothing worse than setting unreasonable targets just demotivates you

When this finally gets up and running on 01/01/10 think we should do weekly updates to keep ourselves focused
, telling each other what we've raised that week and what we are implementing to raise the cash - might spark ideas for each other

Morning all! How are we today?
Been running the figures today and Iv decided I need to sell my pride and joy car to help me with my challenge next year
Its not good - I cant keep it, costs me a fortune to run, and with fuel costs set to soar its got to go - sad times.
I drive about 50 miles to work and back and do lots of driving on weekends - reckon i spend 250 - 300 a month on petrol!!!! :eek:Virgin Loan - £13,646

Wow that's a lot of petrol money!!!
Get yourself a car with a smaller engine and you'll be debt free in no time :T
I've decided that I'm going to quit my gym when my membership runs outI hate to do it but it's £30 per month and I can always go back once I'm debt free

Yeah hopefully will make a big difference
This may be silly of me but the gym is one thing I cant sacrifice - that place is my second home. Guess its more of a hobby than just keeping fit - going in there and burning off steam, having time to reflect and striving towards my end goal is one of the things that keeps me sane in my debt filled life lol
Im so strict when it comes to my weight training and diet....I just need reflect that accross into my finances and ill do OK. But until now iv lacked motivation to make the changes...... thats until the '10 in 10' challenge and my light bulb moment about 3 weeks ago!! :idea:Virgin Loan - £13,646

Hey Chris!
I would love to join in your challenge!
I have 3890 in debts - but I am hoping to buy a house next year with the OH - so need to clear it all AND get some savings going ready for the purchase!!
I wish I had the motivation you did for exercise - from the sounds of it, if I had half your motivation I would be fit in no time!!!

I'm not around online much at the moment - work seems to think I should be earning my money :D
I'm pleased to say that I made the decision to use my bingo winnings for my christmas gift this month, as well as any joint pressies being bought with the wedding money left over (I know that's not what it's for but needs must and we did get some gifts for us)

Afternoon All
Thanks for the birthday wishes
Sally - will give green metropolis a go.
I also have funny working hours, or rather I work over a large area so never know what time I'm going to get home, so I can't really get an evening job.
Split up with OH last nite, (been on the cards for a while) so if I can find a houseshare (not easy with 2 cats!) then at least my rent will come down! Every cloud and all that! Unfortunately, I'll have to borrow the money for a deposit from my Mum as I haven't got any savings at all, so that will be something else to pay back. Mind you, living on my own will give me the chance to earn more money as ex didn't like me having part time jobs!
Anyhoo, have a good weekend all if I don't get online. My first shift behnd the bar in a long time tomorrow, wish me luck :rotfl:
