Well, I haven't posted in ages due to exams and I have more coming up in a couple of months so I thought I would post whilst I can. I have made a small indent into my debts - paid a fifth off. I have also realised a third of the year is almost over and I am not on track to pay it all off by the end of the year. So I have taken a new approach - I am moving somewhere cheaper which will free up almost £300 a month which will be thrown at my debt. I have also opened up another bank account which I am going to transfer £200 a month into. This money is going to cover my petrol, food and book expenses every month. Hopefully.. (fingers crossed) .. hopefully as this is the only card I will have in my purse it will mean I will stick to my monthly budget and not overspend as I can't overspend - I won't have the money in my account.
I must pay this debt off. I must pay this debt off.
I must also try and post whenever I can. I seem to stick to my budget when I post on this board often.

Hello, I haven't posted for a while, but I have been lurking and everyone's been doing really well. I slipped off the wagon for a couple of weeks.....and feeling a bit fed up about it, but I've been paid and can now update my totals.
Paid OH £300 to bring that down to £850, the loan is down by £412.36 to £21,854.72 which brings my total so far to £3,239.80. Slightly lower than it should be, but I've done some work for someone, and they haven't paid me yet  so I'll be sending them a reminder!!Total debt at LBM £26k+Total debt now £16,494.40Tesco CC 11/2/11 Total - £1,387.20 - Now £00 -

Hi everyone,
Just about to update my totals for the month, can feel it in my water tho, it aint lookin good.....had to buy a new fridge freezer after mine packed in, was ancient though so no shame to it, hope the new one lasts as long! The exhaust on the car also needed welded, picked up at MOT. Fingers n toes crossed nothing else goes! This has been one long month (think I said that last month as well!!!) that obviously relates to how well I think I've been doing lol. Must try and post more often, as it really helps. Keep up the good work guys.

Oh meant to say Hi Boobylou! and welcome to the challenge; Shadydaz usually gives out the numbers, and keeps track of our totals, but I know he has been snowed under at work recently, am sure he will catch up with you. Good Luck!

Friday was payday and I've paid off my HSBC overdraft (£520), my Argos card (£149.98) and another £200 to the in-laws.
Unfortunately it has been tainted somewhat by the realisation that my bonus will not be going towards paying for my holiday but instead will be used to pay car tax, car insurance, home insurance, a long weekend away in Cornwall that we've just got back from, DS1's birthday and OH's birthday as well as the overdraft mentioned above.
Can't even use my savings to pay for the holiday as originally planned because we lost all hot water at home last week and the repairs have come to £833
So when I thought I'd be able to make a big CC payment to MBNA this month, I'll probably end up with more debt than what I started with
Oh well, these things are sent to try us I suppose and I'm trying to look on the bright side that 2 more debts have gone and 2 more will be £525 lighter by the time we get into May. And I'll be able to buy my car and home insurance outright this year so that's 2 less DDs going out of my account each month.

Hi everyone,
Feeling totally despondent today, have totalled up and although I've managed to pay off £459.35 this month, my debt has gone up by approx £1500 due to other unexpected expensesI feel like one step forward and 10 back. Have decided to cut my credit card up, as its just too easy to slip back into using it as a safety net. I could weep when I look at the numbers, honestly, I knew it would be bad, but as usual underestimated the full extent of the damage. Will keep going though, and try hard to be a better moneysaver in May.:o
Best of luck to everyone else for the coming month.
