Yes, Nick, I'd understood, I hadn't thought you'd meant what I said was a disgrace!
Kevicho, I explained that when I got my money back, the company wanted confidentiality and I said no way. What I actually said, but the TV programme edited was : "Hell no!"0 -
If they asked from confidentiality from me, Id give it, but not for less than 25k. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Yeah and a free £1000 credit in their store!0

Ooh, it got reet entertaining on here after I'd gone to bed last night! :rotfl:
All I can add is a big thank you to all the negative posters. There's nothing quite like being told "you shouldn't!" to make me want to smirk "oh yes I should, and I flipping well will!"
As long as penalty clauses remain unenforceable by the courts, we'll keep claiming our charges back. Loophole, schloophole. It's the law!
Good luck all and keep claiming! What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about? :eek:Official "Bring back Mark and Lard NOW! or else (please)" Member 160 -
Hi folks
First of all the CAG was always going to crash last night. I remember the days this site used to crash after Radio 2, when you get a broadcast peek its very difficult to cope no matter how big your servers.
To put it in perspective in January when I did the Richard Hammond show, this site was struggling to stay up, and that is with what 7 industrial strength servers. The CAG is a much smaller site, and couldn't be expected to cope.
Yet dont think people will be turned away, many people went to the other sites, or came here and read the article on the main site (a big hit to that too). So the message got through.
As for the negative posters - as you'll see in this weeks tip - i have some sympathy for the argument, but actually think there's some interesting developments due. If you read the bank charges article, you'll see I've added a thought piece to the end of itMartin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.

Now have I quoted you right BW ?

I'd just like to add my two penneth...
First of all Martin gave a particularly good piece of advice near the end of the program. The banks would be within thier rights to close your account if they don't like you any more, leaving you in the "financial wilderness", so if you are going down this route, it might be an idea to move your accounts and direct debits FIRST.
Secondly, I am in no doubt that the banks will have got the lawyers in to try and stop Haemorrhaging money (back to their customers). The fact that they haven't ever turned up in court with a defence seems to me like they already know there's NO defence.
Finally, Sell any shares you have in banks. I have a feeling they might drop quite soon!0 -

we have to try and contact the customer by phone to se if we can help ( on the day they go o/d)
then we have to send out a letter asking them to contact us and we try to contact them again.
From past experience, I would hazard a guess that you don't work at my branch of NatWest then!
I have written to my bank to start the ball rolling, i agree to paying a charge but not the £350+ all resulting from going 50p over an overdraft limit! Why £35 per payment? Why not just one charge of £35? I don't get a letter for each one, so why do they charge me as if I have?? :mad:2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

35 pound for a piece of paper is still wrong
There is no way even if it wasnt automated that they would pay someone 30 quid for 20 mins typing
If they do then im quitting my job and joining them!0
