Piggers - have any of the cats tried the radiator bed yet? Hope you feel better soon.

Summer - re the kitten/cat - are you giving him/her tinned food? It may be too rich (especially if it is wiskars) try cheap fish (coley) cooked in water in the oven and then mash the fish into the water to keep the mog hydrated.

Evening everyone! No flying so far - oops!

Just wanted to say to pooh - I know how you feel it was the same for me with my old dog who was 17 when the end came in the summer. It was the end and I dissolved in tears however there was no more time for him left. Have a good old cry and let out all the grief. It is sad to lose one member of your family x

    Evening everyone

Have only skim read the thread as I had my meeting and then an internet outage but I did note:

Poohbear - big hugs about the dog xxx

Mudders - glad you decided not to drive and hope your eye clears up soon

Sexym - big hugs to you too xxx

I haven't flown and I'm not going to. My ankle, although not really sore, has swollen up big time again this evening so I'm going to rest and elevate!

You're supposed to be resting, and if you're at home all day resting, then you're going to need to have the heating on during the day, even if it's just in the rooms you're using and only on low. You can't afford to let yourself get cold, and you shouldn't be doing stuff (except maybe reading trashy novels or watching DVDs :D). Housework isn't rest.
No but I'd had 2 1/2 hours sleep and we have friends coming for tea tomorrow (I know ) and I havent done anything since my half hour challenge except to try and make fish cakes, the mix is lovely with chilli ginger and coriander but I've made so much I'll be forever frying them off ready to reheat tomorrow. And now DD wants me to make biscuits to take into school on Friday ........................

Dusty my 7 year old nephew is into Ben10 & Lego, as it seemed were most if his friends, what about something for the sports bit? Bags, towels etc

I'm absolutely shattered but I have unpacked 6 boxes :D, the living room area now just has 3 in it tucked out of the way not 22! I've been able to clean/vacuum in here :) Loads flung. Pile of boxes for DP to take upstairs...well I hope he will...tomorrow but they are sorted through eg toys, books etc

Lizards vivarium thermostat has gone pop, grr, one of the most expensive bits. I'm at a meeting tomorrow but will have to get that first & go in late, when I find somewhere to buy one. At the mo I have to keep plugging in/unplugging the heat lamps to maintain his temperature. Not fun.

    We're doing myths now...

    discussing mythical beasts -
Mrs Valli 'where might you see a unicorn?'
small boy 'at the end of a rainbow, looking after the gold'
Mrs Valli (puzzled) 'what do you mean?'
Small boy 'it's a little green man'
    Mrs Valli 'splutters and laughs'
(composes self slightly) 'that's a leprechaun!'

    Evening all

Home, have cooked and eaten and am heading for a bath, after which I'm going to put my feet up and watch casualty from last Sat. DH has folded all the clean washing and is studying though I suspect not for long as he's still not 100%. He has also put some stuff down the bathroom sink which was draining v slowly.

I could do with giving everywhere a once over, am tempted to ask my boss for a flexi day friday as I'm owed loads of time (and constantly build it up) and I'm away from Sunday-Tuesday with work. Problem is I'm not sure I'll get everything finished tomorrow, I'm finalising a contract with a supplier and want to get it sorted this week! Maybe I'll ask for a day next week instead when I can enjoy it more!

Must order thorntons stuff later, if I can think of people to give it to!
