I'm really annoyed with OH's ex.:mad: Dsd2 who's 16 is a 12/14, she's got a big build so will never be skinny but is in no way fat. OH's ex is getting married next year and has told DSd2 that she's too fat and needs to get to a size 8 before the wedding because that's what size she's buying the dress in.:mad::mad::mad: Honestly i could kill the woman.
ANNOYED!!!!! I would have gone round and punched her lights out - the stupid conceited cow (apologies to all cows) thats the fastest way to turn her daughter into an anorexic and give her a complex about her shape for the rest of her life! Why cant she just love and accept her daughter the way she is - instead she piles on the pressure of having to lose weight to keep her mother happy GGGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRHHHHHHH:eek: Holly I think thats appalling - I hope you or OH can make her see sense and see how much she is hurting her daughter emotionally and physically.

    you need a (((hug)))

    Oi Pigsy!

The Thrifty Gifty Organised for Christmas Thread on the Special Occ Board is v. helpful and there are a lot with littlies too who might be able to help. It is a very friendly fun place too!

My only thought was try a Home Bargains or B+M and see if they have anythings that would be suitable for DSs and DDs

You don't seriously expect me to take my eye off you lot??

    big announcement

Once upon a time, long long before Valli became a flylady, she was given, for christmas, two precious and special photographs. These photographs were of her grandparents enjoying the summer sunshine and Valli and her sisters, on holiday in Cornwall with their mum. For a very long time they lay, almost forgotten in a drawer. Then they were brought out of the drawer and put, in their folders, on a shelf by the computer in readiness to be framed. But every Saturday Valli would go to town and forget to buy frames. This went on for a long time.

Suddenly, one rainy, dreary November day Valli was going into town and THIS TIME she remembered to take the photos in their folders in order to choose frames...

AND NOW THEY ARE UP ON THE WALL! I have had them for at least 3 years but I have, finally, done it

    :T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T :T:T:T:T

I have 2 frames which I have had a year.. I WAS going to put copies of a couple of our wedding pics in them and put them on the wall.. I MUST find some nice pics to go in them now.. they are really nice.

I agree with Toots... although she may not become anorexic, she's likely to develop an unhealthy relationship with food and have no confidence in her appearance. Make sure that you and OH reassure her about how great she looks, and if she looks like she's losing too much weight tell her she looks better with curves. Interestingly, it looks as if curves are finally back in - there are a number of size 12/14 models now appearing on the catwalk.

As long as she is fit and healthy, it doesn't matter what size she is. I assume her mother is skinny...

I mean it I really do

When the weather is dull in November and you are doing your ironing they bring a huge grin to your face. Loads of people in the world can sing but not nearly as many can entertain and to make my iron mouth turn up at the corners is not mean feet!

I love the way they are loathed too, and live in their own little world.

    Ironing awaits.

Nothing against them really, just feel that better singers have went out over them, I am a Robbie fan after all and he is an entertainer......but George Michael is my all time idol even though at 21 I found out he was gay, I was devastated :o
I'm going to post my lsit before we head out for the evening :j Those of you who will be propping up The Flyladies Bar, please behave and don't drink too much

What an awful thing to do, nothing like putting the girl under pressure eh? I used to be a size 8 now a size 11! I was told when I was an 8 that I looked ill, not skinny so maybe have a quiet word with your OH's ex and say it may bring on a disorder or is there no compromise with her?

Grateful - It wasn't just me then that never knew how to do it, am not shy in asking!!!:rotfl:

Thanks Toots & Greenbee, the ex lives 200 miles away so a bit too far to punch her lights out ;). Dsd2 said she doesn't care what she says, it's her body and she's happy the way she is and isn't going to lose weight just because she told her to.:T So she's got the right attitude. I would say the ex is about a size 10.

  • Well, I've not really done anything, the kitchen looks like a bombs gone off and I need to find out what that bad smell is but just can't be bothered to do anything.
    Today, I've:
    gone out with DH
    slept
sewn up half of cushion cover
    listed ebay items

    and that's it! Terrible!
    Go Jedward, Go Jedward

    Sorry couldn't resist.

A while ago I had a cheque in the post (for over £100) I'd opened it, put it back in the envelope to sort out a bit later and left it with some other post. My lovely DH decided to throw the post thinking it was all junk and had thought I'd put the cheque somewhere else.

A few hours later I was in a mad panic looking for the cheque! There sitting in the bin was the envelope ripped up... with the cheque inside:eek:

I had to explain to the bank what had happened (all DH's fault of course;)) and luckily they accepted the cheque (stuck together with tape:rotfl:) I did have to write a note with it though.
Sitting in the recycling bin I hope! ;) Glad you found it and it was taken by the bank, that's good!

Tooch and Diva hope you feel better soon xx

    Yay WTG Valli!

Kazw hugs for your dad’s cousin, how sad for her

Macpep well done on doing so much, feels good listing it all doesn’t it!

Lil_me you’ve done loads really, much more than me!

Carlsberggal I have Grandad and Grandma (although she is no longer with us) and Nanny and Dandan – maybe Nanny would be good for you, similar to Nana but not the same? Or Nonna which is Italian for Nana!

Holly grr to the stupid woman, does she want to give your DSD body issues? Sounds like she is the perfect size and DOES NOT need to lose weight!

Watching x-factor now, see you later! Come on Stacey, we love you!

    Hi all,

Not had a chance to post this week as turning 36 has had it's effects! Also been ill with the flu but getting better now. Managed to clean the livingroom, bathroom and kitchen on Friday as had a friend coming up. Needless to say the bedroom is beyond bad, everything from all others rooms ended up in there.

Had a brilliant duvet day today with soup and tv, so will crack on with the bedroom tomorrow. Sometimes, I just love not stepping over the front door.

Hugs for anyone who needs them (sorry not had chance to read most of the thread this week). xx
