Tubigrips can be fine too, guess it's all down to taste! When my ankle (badly torn ligaments) was really bad my mum did a crepe bandage up to the knee and a tubigrip on top - great support!

 about the cats bringing live things in!! DH loves cats and we have a bargain that if I can have 2 kids he can have 2 cats (or vice versa!). I can cope with them but I'm not a cat lover! My parents had one before I was born and he would bring birds into the kitchen through the catflap

soappie - i think I have one from a conference you and I went on although it may have been flung! Funnily enough he's not so keen!

Am all packed, some clothes drying on the airer, including my jeans, though I think they'll still be damp in the morning! Decided to try on my outfit for the dinner, good job as the skirt and top didn't go together, so I've packed 2 skirts and 2 tops and will see what I feel like! I don't do smart these days....I can also almost get into lots of clothes i've not worn for a while but need to drop another couple of pounds first!

    Must update my list...

I gotmy first pet gerbil when a neighbours cat brought it home...the neighbours DID NOT know what their cat had caught, I did, because we had one at school...
Obviously the cat didn't - erm - finish it off.
She came to Derbyshire with us and we got her a husband and she had babies...

Tea was done and DH was late again. Then my brother turned up, he couldnt stop but stayed 2 hours :rotfl: but it means I missed the X factor. Gutted but I dont see bro very often and he finally brought the plate back that had been signed by everyone at the wedding and had been sent back to be fired to preserve the signatures. Trouble is the person who made it 'moved' the childrens signatures from the centre of the plate to the rim and then painted a stupid bow thing in a gap at the top. I am so !!!!!! off because she has taken away the moment of the day by changing it, it just isnt how it was on the day. Am I overreacting?

Anyway boddy - glad mum appreciated your visit. I too would have complained big time about the dirty stuff. Cant remember if your mum is in a hospital or nursing home but either way their cleanliness should be better than that, your mum deserves it and in one way or another its whats being paid for.

holly - so glad your stepdaughter seems to be standing up to her mum. If the silly cow wants to buy a dress thats too small then she should be happy if her daughter as bridesmaid turns up in jeans and a t-shirt. As for asking you to buy her underwear. To be fair to your ex holly - I know what my dad had to lay out of his own pocket when my nan died - it ran into thousands. Obviously he got it back but it was a shock to him, to the point where is has set up a bank account for me and my brother to use in the aftermath of anything happening to him.

carlsberggal - My children have Grandma (who is my mum and its what she chose) and DS has Nanny. DD had a lady who she knew was her Grandmother but called her by her first name for the few occasions she saw her before she died. She was never a Nanny or Grandma to her although DD is too young still to realise that none of her birthday or Christmas card collections contain one from her.

Right think I might hit my bed in a bit as my eyes are starting to sting as I'm tired. Hope I manage to get up earlier tomorrow than I did today, I have washing to do.

Night all, hugs to all those who need one
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

So what's wrong with pink? :p

Nothing... but you have to admit they'd look a bit funny with a suit :D

I've just done my cake decorating order... sugarpaste, boards, cutters, ribbon. A HUGE amount of money, but I'm sure I'll find something to do with all the stuff... even if I don't have anywhere to put it at the moment!

    Must do my ironing tomorrow...

    Night all!

since I spend A WHOLE WEEK in the sheets I want them nice. DS wears his trousers 2 days max and THEY come back mud-covered

(and please can SOMEONE get that muddy-dog-white-bed-ad OFF the TV -)

    Saponificaceous one

we have been watching The Boat That Rocked and I have had some gin;)

But shirley (don't call me shirley!) one night in those nicely ironed sheets and they're all scrumpled again? At least they are in my house - and no not for the reasons your smutty minds might think they are :p I've had some gin too, but I've not watched The Boat That Rocked...

Mine don't often bring them in (this is the first since the DS trouser incident) and you just end up accepting that it's a part of the joys of having a cat or two live with you.

Of the two options - 2 kids, 2 cats, I'd definately go for both! And enjoy. Pukey, stroppy, spotty kids that grow into adults, and feathered and furred creatures presented by the cat that also grows into adulthood but still remains, strangely, juvenile male (hunter gatherer instinct!).

I think you're right about the origins of mine. And I'm not surprised DH isn't so keen ;) but the offer is still there...

    night greenbee,

I should make a move too as I am aiming to be out of the house at 7.30 for the bus to the station. Train out of KX at 9.30am, though I can get any train and the first is 9am. Likely to be there with loads of time to spare but I can grab a coffee and of course the sooner I go the more time I have to spend with my family!

actually (and considering I am an active sleeper) they're not that bad. I seem to 'stay' on 'my' side of the bed. And they get a good tug in the morning when I make my bed...

    DVD was £7.99 at Morrisons.

I am trying (and failing) to understand how to do this Thorntons thing...

Love it! DH loves cats for all kinds of reasons, one being that he loves the fact that they're the boss!

Oooooh, I've just found out there's a Cath Kidston shop in my parents' town, where i'll be tomorrow and monday. I fancy this as my new handbag/non work bag (I've got smart ones for when necessary!)
