  • Evening all. I am afraid I haven't managed to keep up with the thread (or the flying:o) over the last few weeks. I hope everyone is keeping well, hugs to all that need them The powers that be at work have decided to shuffle everyone around and split all the TAs across various classes, so things have been a bit manic and with parents evenings, tutor sessions and vehicles breaking down left right and centre, the days have whizzed by!

However, I really need to have a good sort out before Christmas. So tomorrow is officially day one of pre-Christmas Blitz day!!

    Morning All

Busy day here today as it's the Beavers/Cubs/Scouts etc Christmas Fair so I'm helping out. I want to sort a few things here first though to take with me. After that we're going to see my grandparents as it's my grandad's birthday today. Observation was draining - my feedback was good but the observation on a whole came back as unsatisfactory so we've got another one in a couple of weeks. I also need to deliver some letters to local businesses today asking for donations for our Christmas fair at school unless I can delegate some of them to DH. DS is supposed to be having a filling today as well - he only had the injection last time and then wouldn't have it done so hopefully he'll have it done this time. He's had one other and he was fine so I don't know what's up with him this time.

Mudders - well done to your family.

Jinks - hope you're getting settled in.

Piggers - I use Salactol on my kids' verrucas.

I can't remember what else has gone on so hugs to all and have a wonderful weekend.

    Morning all,

Greenbee/Soappie - ankles. If it is any help mine still hurts now and then from when I fell off the landrover side step during its MOT. That was start of July, and was deep tissue damage and really good bruises from twistng it. I can run and walk on it, it is the odd thing that hurts - like pushing with it. It will sort itself eventually and I didn't go to the Dr's either.

Pigpen - which sort of ipod? My pair want Touches (rather than a DS), Amazon do them for £139, but Currys/hmv are doing them for £149 with a £25 itunes voucher and mini speaker. I figured it was a lot easier to take them back to Argos if there was a problem so I bought them when the voucher offer was on the other week.

Still need to hoover our BR for but DH is asleep. He has the next week off so hopefully he will feel better and we can get on with the house stuff as far as funds permit.

JulieJim - hugs re the observation
Diva - I have the £50 hamper free as a spare to break down into presents. I hope I can muster some self control! Someone sent us one for a wedding present and it was very good. I still have bits of wedding memory stuff in the box.

    Morning all,

Hugs to pigpen, soappie, greenbee and juliejim and anyone else who needs or wants one.

After stressing about it for days, I've finally worked out what I'm going to do on the science morning on Tuesday when the parents come in to watch. We had experiments already planned, but no resources. We are doing 2 in my room - seperating solids from other solids (using rice, salt, metal bolts and lentils - seperating using a seive, colander and magnet), and separating solids from liquids (using water and sand - hopefully from the beach if colleague can get some - and metal bolts again to make it more interesting, and using teatowels to filter the solids from the liquids and magnets to get the bolts out of the sand). Was stressing about it as no-one could find the filter paper in school and it's not the cheapest thing to buy and it would be too late to claim the money back for them as it has to be done so many weeks in advance. I've got plenty of teatowels but will need to borrow some seives and colanders. The idea behind it, is that there has been a great storm and all of the provisions on the Tudor boat have been mixed up, and the children need to seperate them all back out again (I know they wouldn't have had bolts, but needed something to make it take a bit longer). I've even found a halloween sound effects CD that I had already that has the sound effects of a storm on it! :) OH is going to provide the bolts for me. I'm so glad I've got him, as he talked me through what he would do to make it seem more interesting as science was one of his strong points at school. He also said he's got some bits of old wood that we could put on the table to make it look like bits of ship wreck.

Decided we're going to do Christmas card making stall at the Christmas fair on Friday as the calendars idea isn't going to work as we haven't ordered them in time either cos I was off sick. Thought that doing decoupage would be a good idea as we don't have to wait for paint etc to dry then, so going to hunt down some Christmas wrapping paper that can be cut up, and we're going to get bits of cardboard box to be in between the layers from sainsbugs.

2 things off my mind now! Thank goodness. I know that my class assembly on Wednesday morning will be fine as I made the script last week and the children have already had a practice of it. Just haven't worked out how they're going to sit on the stage yet.

Now you can probably see why I've been a bit stressed lately.

Going to do some more washing today as didn't get around to doing much yesterday, and OH and I are going to do the food shopping when he gets home from work as I'm a bit worried about driving with my tax disc situation.
