JEMMAT/JAMESPIR - it is in english - which part doesnt seem '"english" enough for you [puzzled!!!] ... and if u dont understand it - dont bother replying.

Well, I'll reply but I'll not help. I only have 60mins when checking the board and it makes life much easier if you speak English.

The fact you don't know what I and others are talking about should prove the point.

If you are so stupid you don't want help/comments from as many people as possible then that's really good for me and others who are here to help.

A few thoughts spring to mind...

    1. Do you also have a bank account with The Abbey? If so, I suggest that you remove the money BEFORE closing the account. Abbey Credit Cards are allowed to use your Abbey bank monies to pay off what they perceive as your credit card debt by dipping into your Abbey bank accounts without telling you!

    2. I suggest you do your own investigations with the companies mentioned on your statement. Datacash.com is a payment processor and they should be able to give more information about the transaction, where it originated, whether any relevant 3d secure codes were used and even if your correct name and address details were used in the transaction!

    3. There is a lot of fraud involving credit cards where the fraudster generates card numbers, expiry dates and the 3 digit code on the back of the card. My card provider tells me that is what happened to me! Find out from Datacash.com where your card was used.

    4. If your card was used on a website then try to check out the validity of the website. If you are unsure how to do this I am prepared to do it for you. Just PM me.

  • I don't suppose that anyone considered the fact that the OP has come here desperate for advice on a very stressful situation and might be typing her post out quickly because of that? So what if she's not the best speller in the world...to pull her up on a few easily made spelling mistakes and missing a couple of spaces is really petty. I've seen a hell of a lot worse grammar on these boards! I had no problem at all reading her post. Don't take your hangovers out on other people.

There is no need to be rude.

    In regards to your post:
    1. Write to Abbey at their complaints address.
    2. Give you letter the title "Formal Complaint"
    3. In the letter explain briefly what has happened with dates and times that you contacted Abbey with their responses. (Make sure you write the letter using standard English)
    4. End your letter stating if you don't hear from them within 8 weeks you will have to refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
    5. Sent you letter to them by first class recorded delivery.
6.Keep a copy of the letter and recorded delivery receipt until the issue is resolved fully.
This seems the best route for you to go.

It's difficult for people to reply or understand if you don't use English on an English language forum.

I, cannot believe, that you think, this is an appropriate response, to someone in distress, asking for advise.

    It's an appalling attitude.

It does appear that Jemma has a bit of an attitude problem. But the points were valid - When I see long questions without paragraphs and punctuation, full of typo's and spelling mistakes, it's hard work to read and does make me less likely to reply. I'm sure I'm not alone on this.

It only takes a minute to re-read your post, and tidy up!

It does leave many people with the overriding impression that if the OP can't be bothered to put their problem in reasonable English, then they probably can't be bothered to even try and help themselves.

Why, then, should they expect others to help them ?

The bottom line to this problem is freely available on the web on thousands of sites:-

If you didn't carry out the transaction - don't pay it !
