Just visit your local GP practice and see if they can manage without those secretarial 'scum'.

So how did our local GP surgery (2 GPs and a couple of nurses) manage with just a couple of receptionists for a few decades - last time I went there were at least six receptionists crowded into the same space and I noticed another couple in a side room. I've no doubt they are all doing a job, but is it a job that needs doing? Is it really necessary to have 8 support staff for 2 GPs and 2 nurses or are the other 6 just doing unnecessary paperwork/administration due to bureacracy, box ticking etc?

Well that is it, I never thought I would do it, Mr Ed is the first id I have ever put on ignore, he does spout some garbage:eek:

I think Generali did the same StevieJ.

Problem is, if we all ignore such views (ala dervish etc) then they are allowed to fester.

Whilst I won't feed a troll, I refuse to put it on ignore. Such views will be challenged, as & when the time is right.
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

Probably due to the fact that the local population served by your surgery has increased 10 fold

All organisations require management, the larger the organisation the more management. What's important is the quality. I know a nurse who has been positively discouraged and is totally frustrated by the descisions and actions of the local PCT HQ. The ultimate objective seems to be to create more layers of management to occupy the town centre offices thay have rented.
This is where the cuts should be, not support staff (or what customers call admin) It's the "executives" who are creating non-work to fill their week.
The only thing that is constant is change.

Probably because, as 2001GT pointed out, populations are increasing all the time. With increased population comes increased number of ill people.
People also live a lot longer than they did a few decades ago. Older people are more likely to need medical attention than someone 50-60 years younger.

You are incorrect. You write reactionary twaddle so expect derision.

Oh and, unsurprisingly, your English is poor. Presumably the level of educational attainment is directly linked to general powers of intelligence and reasoning here.

Looks like the 'dear 'ol' did its job, then...

I was a bit out on the salary, but still massive for the fact the job is worthless.

Yes, you were a bit out on the salary, weren't you? About 170% out. In your favour.

    How strange.

One might even think you were trying a little bit too hard to make a point.
  • so basically, anyone who is not a lefty is a troll. hahaha classic.

170% out? 45k to 65k is not even 100% out.

Liz, i see you have reverted to (type) typical lefty childish abuse when you can't come up with a proper answer.

Do you just shout "racist" or "homophobe" at random when you don't understand things?

There is no need for a diversity and equality manager at a fire service. Please enlighten me, oh socially enlightened lefty, and tell me why my tax money is funding this non job. You can comment all you like on my english - I don't care about that. Justify this job please.
