I couldn't agree more these types make life harder for the hard working public sector workers who give a damn and work damn hard for little or no thanks from management and to keep getting knocked by allcomers who want to have a go!

its a joke. firstly there is no need for a fire service to have a diversity officer, anyone brave enough to want to walk into a burning building should be accepted whatever colour or race they are.

secondly, if they really need this non-job, then the pay should be about 16k.

its a joke and a waste of my hard earned tax.

i am sick of everyone taking "public sector" to be nurses and teachers. I have no idea what percentage they make up, but it is probably less than 10%

Most public sector workers have a "no can do" attitude and have a job that doesn't even really need to exist.

Axe 50% of them NOW!!!!!

If it is a non job then why pay anything for it...... would you do a non job for 16k if someone would pay 65k? The salaries are drive by the market in general terms.

I was a bit out on the salary, but still massive for the fact the job is worthless. It was a while back, i couldn't remember it all - the actual Guardian ad has expired...
