  • haha, thanks guys!!!
OH and I are getting better at kicking each others butts - but we're still a bit "you deserve it, treat yourself", so I need you lot to be mean! But not too mean...;)
Loving the chilled air this morning, winter is the best season!

In other debt busting news - I FINALLY made it to £25 on PureProfile, although they say it takes at least 21 days for the money to come through. So hopefully just in time for Christmas!!

  • Hello all,
Waiting for my soup to heat up in the microwave at work, early lunch!
Well, I spoke to the bank, who reversed the DD and so aren't charging me. Haven't been able to get through to Egg, will try again shortly. At worst its a £12 fee, plus the extra interest. Not a complete disaster, and as you say SavingHolmes - they might be nice! I can afford to pay before Christmas, so they won't have to wait a whole other month.

In terms of the saving tins, December was way optimistic a start date, so January it will be! Plus still need to find a job for March, slow going down this way, but will keep looking.
Hope everyone is having a good day so far, half way through the week!
    xx

  • Hey Happy,
Sorry you're feeling crappy. Can you borrow an outfit to wear? Women in my office switch around all the time. Hard enough trying to deal with everything and then trying to lose some weight as well and feel good about lookig right at parties. You don't need to shift it though, you just want to. And remember, those parties are for having fun, its not just about squeezing into a smaller dress. Do you have any money to buy one off Ebay? I've worn a Coast dress to 4 events this year that I got for £23 from Ebay. Also, see it as a positive that you've bought something, don't like it so will take it back rather than shove it in the cupboard and never wear it. Thats good MSE behaviour!

This time of year is stressful, just the idea of spending money for Christmas is putting me on edge. You and OH have done so well, so don't feel guilty if you ease up a bit this month and spend a little of the surplus on yourselves rather than on debt repayments.

And if you wanna cry, cry! I blub all the time, I'm awful. hehe. Gets it all out though, and usually works in making you feel a bit better.
I can't locate the hug smiley, so have a beer instead...
Think that was all a bit rambly. Being stressed out is no fun, especially when you can't really figure out why. But we all have loads on our plate, particularly this time of year, so allow yourself to feel rubbish sometimes.

  • well its just ohs mum died a few weeks ago, and it was only a short while after our wedding and i feel like ive had to grow up super fast to deal with that its not something i expected... the hassle of having to sort xmas cards and gifts and visit people and crap like that i just dont feel in the mood.... oh is crap at the moment which is understandable but he doesnt relay information i get stressed because i have to ask about information non debt related... but its starting to make me feel extra stressy, we go on holiday soon and im kind of ready for it, i feel like eveything is too much at the moment !! i get mad then because i feel like im doing all the worrying and its brushed aside by oh i feel like its been a crap year when really i should still be bouncing from the walls with the joy of marriage, maybe that doesnt make sense but im posting it anyway :P

  • Hi Happy,
Sorry, I had to go to my other job so no internet. Sad for you about your MIL. Really tough times, especially when as you say you should be enjoying being newly married. I find being a responsible grown up really hard sometimes. At least you understand why OH is behaving a bit rubbish. I'm guessing he's not brushing you off as such, its just his way of coping. Used to drive me mad when OH wouldn't speak about things, but I realise now he'll talk when he's ready. Its still frustrating though.
Holiday sounds just what you need. If you don't feel in the mood do as little of the christmas stuff as possible, just sign your name in cards rather than put long messages, cut back on visits, maybe a quick phonecall instead? Buy as many gifts as possible online from easy places like Amazon.
Look after yourself and come on here to whinge as much as you want! Life sucks sometimes, but a new year is coming up and its going to be a good one!
Have a big cyber hug and eat something nice for dinner!
    xx

happy - sorry for your loss... my OH was very uncommunicative when his dad died - it took him a couple of years before he could really express his grief....

  • Hi all,
Happy - how are you feeling now? Hope you've had an ok couple of days and things are looking a little better.

Egg were actually very nice, because I can make the payment before the end of the month, they are not applying a charge :-) There will be extra interest, but thats ok I guess. Just means that the next couple of months will be tough. Especially as my contract runs out the end of March so I need to find something soon. But working 3 jobs and job hunting is hard! Just need to keep at it.

No other debt busting this week really. I had to use my CC a couple of times, which is annoying, but overall this month the debt still went down. I need to update my sig at some point, but because of a few extra things a couple of months ago its not looking good overall so don't want to update! haha, will do it later though.

Hope everyone has nice, free plans for the weekend! I will spend tomorrow night (boo) but going to friends for sunday lunch on sunday, so free meal!
    xx
