  • Wooohoooo - battening down the hatches here - winds already up to 60mph and forecast up to 85 tonight. At least the high tide and rain won't bother us too much, we are at the top of a hill but it does make it a tad breezy! The sea is all white horses and big tankers sheltering in the bay.

Hope everyone is having a good day, I am busy reading my Archers Cookbook which is making me itch to get into the kitchen and bake!

heavy rain is just starting here too. DS will arrived loooking like a drowned rat again, as he doesn't go prepared. Yesterday he asked for an overcoat to go over his suit for school, so will have to look into that.

Since lunch I have got out all my craft stuff to do some Christmas cards. Not much inspiration. The dove stamp on Craft Stamper that I got isn't that brilliant. Never mind, they'll go bearing good wishes any way.

Not done any baking, but that can happen another day.

Am waiting for OH to pick me up & then we'll be off to the rugby....Sale Sharks v Leeds Carnegie tonight - I think it may be a bit of a wild one judging by the weather forecast!

Not much OS - made 4 Christmas cakes in one of those big tins with dividers the other day - first time, so I hope they'll be OK. One's for us, the others are for my brothers :). Just need to find some nice bottles for the sloe gin & we're almost sorted present-wise.

Celyn, what a lovely idea for your sister :A

bargainbird - I thought of you the other day when I was browsing the cookbooks in Waterstone's, remembering the day you all had to beat a hasty retreat. Luckily there weren't many people in the cookbook section or they'd have been edging away from me wondering why I was giggling :rotfl:

welcome back lillbet dripping, glad the move went okay!

Essex-girl - I keep forgetting to wish you better :o Glad the meeting re work went okay recently, it's certainly stress you can do without. Is this to do with the contract you were so relieved and pleased to win?

I forgot earlier to send ((((HUGS)))) to everyone who's ill or unhappy xxxx

floss - Will you be going "Say-ull, Say-ull"?

Diva - Thanks for the warning about the wind, I can hardly wait  Must go and drag DH off the sofa to help me move the bins to the back, we'd been waiting for the rain to ease up.

    Evening all

I'm very late posting today, I normally post in the mornings but have been quite productive over the past couple of days, yesterday I was very busy with collecting work trousers from being altered, they look so much better and you can actually see how much weight I have lost! Came home and did numerous loads of washing, drying and ironing, did housework. So today have done food shopping, changed beds, washed sheets, duvet covers etc, re-made beds, given kitchen S & S and scrubbed kitchen floor. Also bought nephews birthday and Xmas parcels as they are over for the weekend and I won't see them again before Xmas so need to get the parcels wrapped ready to take to mum's on Sunday when we go for lunch. Tomorrow will put BM on to make pizza dough for the boys lunch and I will have my fav salad. Will want to get any washing, drying and ironing done. Will make some hob nob biscuits too.
Didn't lose any weight this week which I'm a bit miffed about but know that at some point the weight loss is going to slow down, will give it another week and if I don't lose anything next week, will up the exercise and go from there. Still feel really focused so not too worried, and feel really positive.

Keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

    Evening all

Late again  been out visiting for most of the day, finally got back and a friend rang her OH is quite poorly and she said he was getting very depressed, as they don't know what is wrong with him yet, he's seen a specialist and had various tests done so is waiting for results now.
We popped over for a couple of hours just for a chat and to cheer him up a bit.
They are supposed to be going to NZ and Australia in December, to visit daughter and son in law in OZ and son and DIL in NZ, they have'nt seen them or the grandchildren for 2 years, it's taken them that long to save up to go.

Havent read through yet will do when we have had Dinner, Pizza and beans yummm

We are off to West Sussex tomorrow until Sunday PM to see DS1,DIL and DGD's oooo I am sooo looking forward to seeing them, havent seen them since the adoption party in September.

Hope you are all well and the poorlys are feeling a little better today

PippaS Enjoy your time with DS & family I bet you can't wait HSmotivate-smile.gif

The weather here is very wet but not too windy. I hope that everyone is well snuggled up tonight & keeps safe. Pasta bake was lovely and there's 2 portions left for lunch tomorrow :money: even 3 portions if we have some salad with it. I've got some thrifty cookery books from the library and Thrifty Ways for Modern Days ;):p which is like having the whole forum next to me when I'm reading it. I'm going for a bath & to curl up with my books. If anything jumps out at me that looks interesting I'll post it tomorrow.

HSarmhugs_9780.gif to everyone that needs one & positive thoughts for those of us who are feeling down at the moment. Take care everyone xxx
