• Morning all!
I need to get back to my mealplans, everythings gone a bit haywire this week-don't know why. Anyhow my GC week starts on a friday so today is a fresh start. HM soup for me for lunch, with a stilton toastie. DD's packed lunch is done. WM is on but it'll be going in the TD! Plan for macaroni cheese with ham for tea-I've got milk and ham that needs using.
I finally got in the garden yesterday to start cutting back and tidying and really enjoyed it until the rain got a bit heavy and I admitted defeat! Still lots to do but now I've started I feel quite inspired. I was hoping to move the bird table from in a shrub (!!!) to the window side of it but it hasn't got feet-just a post(I inherited it with the house!) and seems to be rotting so I shall ask for one for my birthday I think.
Would like to carry on with the garden today but have promised my mum that I will go and help her assemble a large bookcase for my dad.
I hope everyone is well and hugs for those that are in need.
July grocery- 24.40/220. NSD-1/3.
Myself, DD, 2 cats, 35 weeks pregnant.
Debts- CC's- V-775, F-1253.10, BC-3291.80, T-1429.08. Total-6748.98. All 0%. Aim- to pay £200 per month.

Good morning....

It's been awhile since I posted. Some of you may remember I was going to Dublin for 5 days. Well I did go but the first night we got there or well I should say in the middle of night..I had to run to the toilet and my body didn't know whether to go to the toilet or throw-up :( Seems during our travel i either ate something bad or picked up a nasty virus...We spent most of our time in the hotel room because i was so sick at times. :( I was totally gutted our trip got ruined thanks to my sickness. I came home and went to see my Gp and she she blamed it on my "anemia". I know the difference between the feeling of having low energy etc. and being SICK. She wouldn't even take a damn blood test to see if i had an infection or not so for the past few weeks I have been feeling bad (but going to work) and trying to take care of myself :/
I feel a bit better today thankfully (drinking gatorade has helped a bit too) and + my new mobile arrived in the post so things are on the up :)

So that's what I have been up to...

Have a nice day folks

Good morning ,
its pouring here too , but we are holed up at home for the weekend , as i have said to hubbie , he needs to get the bathroom and toilet finished by sunday ,
we have a party on the 29th nov , and am getting worried it wont be finished in time !!
MSD , the resaon i got that meat cheap was because i took up an offer that Abel and Cole were doing , if you had one of their boxes at 15 quid or over for 4 weeks to try them , they credited you with 50 quid to spend on what you liked .

i have my christmas meat sorted :D
not much OS here , i guess i will be making the builders tea a lot today and finding misplaced tools , that hubbie cant remember , where he has put them :rotfl:
but it will be worth it for a nice clean fresh bathroom ;)
if anyone would like a code for the abel and cole offer , PM me , its still on at the mo , plus if you use my name , you get a free cookbook on your 2nd box !!
hugs to those that need them and have a not too wet day to everyone !!!

Morning all,

PenPin - sorry to hear your sad news
Elona - very dramatic! Glad to hear you're on the mend.
ravylesley - I didn't read that about your poor DH!! Glad he is ok - was it oiks throwing the brick?

Well what rotten weather!! Was very glad to DH for the lift in today as it's too windy for a brolly, but this sort of weather seems to make everyone a driver. We were in quite a bit of traffic but to be fair it was mostly moving.

Did the Tesco shop last night and bagged a 7.5 kilo bag of potatoes for £3! Kiss my face was dead chuffed with that, means that my Mum won't need to buy any for a bit either so earned myself the perfect daughter crown for another day :A :rotfl:

My big brother has only gone and landed himself a job!! He has a history of being largely unemployed (serious self-esteem issues) but he's gone ut there and done it! In this economic climate too!! Very proud of him :T

Feeling a bit rough today myself. Think I'm about to have a bit of a flair up on the IBS front but can't work out why. Don't think I've eaten anything off my "naughty" list so not sure why. Have got the tell-tale pain in my stomach which makes me feel sick and need to double over. May well be leaving work early at this rate _pale_

Having said that tea tonight is sausage, mash, cauliflower cheese and onion gravy! Have a feeling that my plate may just have mash on it

Have a lovely day OS or otherwise, hugs to all in need/want xx

Morning everyone.

It's actually dry here with no winds despite them being forcast  I'm pleased though as I want to help DH dismantle the trampoline in the garden for the winter.

Still feeling very stuffy and coughing I shall go to the docs on Monday if it's still the same then. Plans for today are Flylady list, which I know will be the kids rooms  unfortunately, bit of ironing, 3 loads of washing to get to dry and hoovering & dusting downstairs. DS3 is going to my Mum & Dad's for the weekend and DS2 is staying at a friends house tonight so it'll only be four of us for tea tonight. Pasta bake is on the menu so it won't take long to make and any leftovers will make a scrummy lunch tomorrow ;)

Good morning all,

MSD, thanks for your kind wishes. I feel a little better today. The tiredness goes with the medication and the condition (SAD) and now it's diagnosed and more or less controlled I find it much easier to deal with. I know my limitations and it's not a life threatening condition. Accepting that it's how I am makes it better too. I just take each day as it comes in the winter.

I didn't know whether to be overjoyed or totally peed off yesterday when I found I was losing 2 hours work today as the students aren't in. When I only do about 6 per week it's a big % gone! Glad though that I don't have to go in as I didn't have to get my @r$£ out of bed so soon. DH is home today as well, so nice to be here, even though he's out in the garage changing my cam-belt, at least I can do coffee etc,

Today has already been better for jobs done. Have cleaned the second oven. Much easier when you read the instructions and find out just how many bits will come out for cleaning. Shelves were done the other day.

Pen-Pin and anyone else in that position. I 've been through the distress of seeing my hair thin out. I started to wear a wig 4 years ago and soooo wish that I had done so sooner. I look younger than my years and my hair looks good until I start to need a new wig. When you find the right one you'll probably feel a million dollars! I know I did. I cried I was so happy! It might take time though to find the right style, colour etc. My mum started to wear one a couple of years ago. We both look great. My gran had one in the 70s/80s and it was hideous. We wouldn't let her wear it!

I'm a real ambassador for wig wearing and determined people should find it more acceptable and less 'funny' than it is.

As far as I'm concerned the downside is that I get very warm in the summer, so a lot of the time I just wear a headscarf, especially at home. This also serves to preserve the wigs, which in reality don't look desperately good for that long.

Much depends on the quality and type of wig that you get and unfortunately the NHS isn't very generous in England. You get better deals regarding the script if you live in Scotland and Wales I believe.

I get mine from the USA, as they're much more reasonable, having said that, unless I had tried a particular style on I wouldn't buy over the internet.

There is a forum http://www.alopeciaonline.org.uk/forum/default.asp where there is information about the condition and also such issues as information about wigs of different types.

I wear Monofilament acrylic wigs, they look very realistic,. The monofilament bit means they have a 'natural' parting, which adds to the realism. I found I couldn't get these on the the NHS so gave up with them. It's a postcode lottery what you will get I'm afraid. My friend in a neighbouring area gets the good quality ones on her script with no extra to pay. I can only get !!!! ones.

I've banged on enough, but if anyone wants further help or information I'm happy to chat about it (msn maybe?) or talk to folks via email. Send me a PM. There is very rarely anyone around who is prepared to help in this specialist way with a potentially distressing situation.

Back to today. Have tidied the freezer and might do some baking later. Lunch, have some soup from freezer and fresh loaf. Dinner will be easy, potatoes already cooked from the other night. Liver and onions and some other veg from the freezer. Apple pud left from last night so that's easy. Will make fresh custard. Meals for the weekend also to come from the freezer. I haven't been shopping since 8th I don't think and that was only cos I was passing sainsburys and went to get tonic. I don't think Aldi keep the little cans of schweppes.

have a good weekend everyone

• Morning all,

I'm very lazy today and have only just got dressed. I don;t have much to do today though so it's not a hardship.

I was planning on popping up to our local organic farm and getting started on their weekly box scheme again as I think this will be easier for me than having to shop. Now I've seen one of the posts above about Abel and Coles £50 offer I'm not sure whether to sign up with them for four weeks instead. Ho hum. I think I might as then I can stock up with £50 worth of meat just before Christmas. Maybe I'll have a trip to the farm anyway just for this weeks shopping as A&C don't deliver in my area until Thursday anyway.

I really fancy pea and ham soup from watching HFW last night so I might get a ham hock too to boil up. That'll then do for lunch for the next few days.

Lunch today was odds and ends from the fridge and tea tonight will be stuffed peppers with a piece of salmon.
