Great 'What NOT to buy in Pound Shops' Hunt

I don't rate their bags of chocolate mis-shapes, even for £1 - the chocolate's not very nice and the pack I got were all toffees like the ones everyone leaves at the bottom of the Christmas tin of Quality Street! Nowhere near as good as the yummy could-be-Thorntons bags they have in Quality Save for £1 (or are they 99p?).0

Hair Gel today in the 99p shop is exactly the same as the 69p one in Home Bargains! But they can be good for 'tupperware' type containers

I bought some catnip in Poundland. It was quite a large size so thought I was getting a great bargain. Well, I don't know what is really in the packet but it is definitely NOT catnip. My cats took a sniff and then wandered off! Noramally they go crazy for the stuff.
And please, enough about the weight of the sugar bags!!!!!0 -
Just because it's 4 cans for a £1 it doesn't mean you can have 1 for 25p.0

.... Poundland sell 1.5KG bags which work out pretty cheap but 1KG bags would be dear - in any case you can currently get 1KG of sugar from Poundstretcher for 59p.the bags of sugar are cheaper than anywhere thyre 1.5kgIn our pound shop the sugar is 1.5kg not 1kg like you normally buy in the supermarket for ninety odd pence, so is a bargain.humblebumble wrote: »FACT: POUNDLAND bags of sugar ARE 1.5kg which work out at 67p per kg :-)
1.5kg bags of sugar in mine also - WHITWORTHS
Exactly as per their website

Not that I buy it from here.
I get mine from either COSTCO or MAKRO at just 52p & 53p a kilo

I agree the cheaper batteries are rubbish - go for alkaline, avoid 'heavy duty'/Zinc.
The GU10 bulbs (2 for a pound) are the cheapest I have found and have been fine. They have certainly had as long a life as more expensive ones.
I would also avoid the packs of screws - they might as well be made from paper as the metal seems to disintegrate when they are being screwed in.0 -
Cadburys chocolate fingers, bought some towards the Christmas hamper I am making for my dad the other day, then saw them 20 minutes later in my local freezer shop for 69p

"staff" doesn't just include shop floor staff.
Someone somewheres making up the prices- even if they don't ever visit a store its still someones responsibility.0
