What an ignorant post. You make it obvious that you haven't seen it, let alone filled it in, yourself, yet have a go at people who say it's difficult. It is difficult for a lot of people, because it is not very well designed, and it is especially difficult for people when they are ill!
Do some research before you speak next time, if you're not interested in looking at an IB50 yourself then try reading about some people's experiences of it on the net - there's plenty there."All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." (Edmund Burke)

well willa, its sort of asking for it eh ? remember KARMA !
Anybody can get ill and be forced off work. at any age.0 -
not sniping..........not getting at anyone..........just trying to fill in a few gaps and maybe give folk a little insight into why things sometimes happen......................
when the op last went through the pca the health care professional would have given an opinion on how long it should be before the person was assessed again. a decision would have been actioned at dwp to enable a recall for assessment at said time.............still with me?
a long list of names would have appeared on some paperwork which someone then has to action.................they need to be eagle eyed to spot all the people who don't actually need to be assessed again due to age, circumstance and various other factors...........sometimes these things get missed as I suspect happened in this case. a quick call to the local office usually sorts it and no further action is required.0 -

Although it was not me that wrote the post that willa is replying to, I would like to comment.
I have seen several IB50s. It is mainly tick boxes. There is also space to write more to clarify if necessary. It is not hard to fill in, imho. My husband does find it stressful, but that is because he suffers with anxiiety. Other people may find it stressful because they are worried abour losing their money. It is not difficult or stressful in itself, although people with certain conditions may find it so.
However, people have to be assessed somehow.
If there were notthe questionnaires (which some people here grumble about), nr the medicals (ditto), how are people going to be assesssed otherwise? You can't just go to the DWP and say ' I'm ill, give me the money'!(AKA HRH_MUngo)

I will respond . My point really is that it doesn't matter how the form is filled in as the OP doesn't intend to stay on IB but will be claiming her SRP. I am sure she can remember what she put on the last one or has a copy so just replicate it.
Yes it may be daft asking her to do it and a waste of money but I still say she has spent more time posting on here moaning about it than it would have taken to tick a few boxes.
And no I have never had to fill one in, although I did help my husband with his only one.0 -

Exactly. In your opinion it is not hard to fill in but you are not the one filling it in. I am tempted to go and get the form now and post some examples of the tickbox choices and how silly they are (keeping in mind that people are judged on precisely these exact answers when the bods with the hidden cameras are watching).
I apparently have an IQ of 148 (yes, yes, here come the witty replies) and I found it ****** hard to fill in, what about everyone else!!"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." (Edmund Burke)

I said my husband found it stressful. I did not say he found it hard (and he quite understands why it has to be filled in).
I have one in front of me this very second. Give me some examples of 'silly'.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

All their forms are repetitive, very nitpicky, how many times a day do you need help with this this this this /on average how long do you need help for each time/how many days a week/ how long can sit on a chair/stand/walk/how far in metres can you walk before you get this that the other.
People who have never had to do one of these have NO IDEA what they are like ! They are totally awful - and I was a member of Mensa LOL !!
However, I am the OP and the whole thing was about NOT filling it in- not about filling it in ..0 -

Argh. Can't find a copy of IB50 on net at present and don't want to type it all out.
Have a look at the options for 'using your hands', p. 10.
Now, I don't think there's enough options there or the selection that is there is very
strangely constructed!
Sure, you can elaborate in the following box but you HAVE to tick one and therefore agree that that absolutely applies to you."All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." (Edmund Burke)

Threads on MSE tend to meander.
IB50s are a recurring theme here."All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." (Edmund Burke)
