I got this form today, IB50. They want it filled in and returned by the 24th Dec.
But on the 23rd dec, I am 60, and I have already sorted out my pension which starts on that day. Should I bother filling it in or just leave it ?

It seems pretty pointless to have to fill it in, but it would be best to contact them and explain the situation and see what they say.0

that was my first thought but knowing them they might stop my incapacity immediately and then I will have to trail round trying to get it back... I might "mislay" the form for a bit first...:D0

Assuming the OP is female, then the IB50 should not have been issued. To avoid any possible delay with the State Pension, I suggest the OP rings the JCP Benefit Centre now to remind them that she is approaching age 60.0

They cannot stop your IB until you have a medical and fail the medical.
not true............incap can be stopped for other reasons ie failing to attend a medical assesment, failing to complete an ib50.
however as has already been stated the op does not need to complete one in this case as she is within 6 months of state pension age0 -

I did say they cannot stop IB until you have a medical, obviously it would be stopped if you did not attend without good cause. It is not usually stopped if someone fails to complete the IB50, in this case they are asked to attend a medical.0 -
under what circumstances would benefit be stopped if the ib50 was not completed?
and what kind of incapacity would you need to have that if you failed to complete your ib50 you would still get asked to attend an assessment?0 -
Sorry, healy, unless the customer has a mental health incapacity, IB/IS is automatically disallowed if the IB50 is not returned by the 6 week time limit.0
