 isn't it funny though how laws never favour the little people - only the MPs!!0

Sorry, mardatha DWP/JCP only apply the relevant laws- they don't make them.
IB stops one day before 60/65, and State Pension starts on the first Monday on or after age 60/65.
Before 1995, IB was paid upto the day before State Pension started- so there was no break - but the law was changed.
Can u comment on my post please....Will they bother with 4 weeks incapacity, before he goes onto Pension Credit.....or will they still try to get him back to work..to avoid paying Pension Credit...Couponing....."every little hurts"

The PCA medical still applies to men upto the age of 64 & 6 months whilst he still claims IB. If a man no longer wants to claim IB from age 60, because he wants to claim Pension Credit instead, then he needs to tell JCP that he wants to end the IB claim.0 -

Thanks for this, I passed it on, apparently there is no advantage(benefit wise) him staying on IB, as Pension Credit increases his benefit way past what he receives now....He HAS applied and filled in the form(s) for Pension Credit.
Is he still classed as unemployed, and now through not being on IB, will he have to start attending the Job Centre........even though he is still "incapacitated" but not claming the benefit.Couponing....."every little hurts"

My husband recently went onto PC and it was the best thing he ever did. No more medicals, no more job centre, no more hassle. He is effectively retired.
I have got a follow-on question, Stazi, (or anybody lol) which I h ave posted in a new thread, will somebody please look at it

In this case then, why do you think they are questioning his incapacity, being there will only be 4 weeks after(the last day for) submitting the form until he receives PC...........or has this been answered above by stazi, in that he hasnt informed JCP he is coming off IB and onto PC.
or, the time left doesnt matter, and things just proceed as normal.Couponing....."every little hurts"

I would go with what stazi has said as they know the procedure.0 -
I honestly don't know how these people think or if they can ! I'm expected to fill in this huge long form, and then they're going to turn round and tell me I'm too old to get it anyway LOL!0

I would think in your case, its a mistake, as by the time they receive it, you will be off the benefit anyway....I think if you ring them, they should see the error of their ways, unless bureaucracy really has gone madCouponing....."every little hurts"
