I feel like I'm ready to burst - am 37 weeks with my 1st and keep thinking that every little twinge is it! Baby's head is engaged and I'm just waiting for his appearance now.
Good luck to those (like me) who are waiting and congratulations to everyone who's had their babies.

essexhoney wrote:nearly 35 weeks now, the thing that confused me the most is they did say a few weeks ago when they last scanned me that i could go anytime from 35 weeks as im carrying so much water so i was slightly shocked that they stopped it.
My OH has taken some time off work to get Kurt to school and help me out with Beth so its not to bad but it still doesnt make life easy
Thanks for your concern its much appreciated
How you doing hun, Keely says you arnt having a great time of it at the mo x .. thinking about u xx
Keely's just about had enough, shes 37 weeks & 5 days now, and is convinced the littleun's gonna come early .. I say late0 -
Abysmom - that fact that you are 1cm is insignificant really - you would expect this of most people who have given birth before. May be that you are having sex too frequently (prostaglandins not having chance to build up). Just keep active and healthy and labour will start when your body is ready - which doesn't usually tie in with when we want it to happen!0

Hey Kaz
Thanks Jays.
Ended up in hospital the other afternoon again after i started leaking water was examined by the doctor on call who promptly told me 'i dont know if its your waters or not' they sent me home and told me that if anything else happened to go straight back down there and they would scan me. Not last night but the night before started getting contractions again by 7am they were getting rather intense thought id hang it on a bit longer didnt really want to go to hospital for them to stop it again. By 9.30am they had stopped AGAIN!!!!! Im back to see the consultant this afternoon so i will see what he says then, they did say on monday about scanning me if i was still trickling to see how much fluid is around the baby and im still trickling at the mo but i aint going to get my hopes up they havent exactly been very helpful up until now.The Only Thing Men Can Do Right Is Get Everything Wrong
Anyone Care To Prove Me Right?0 -

i wonder how juliepink is getting on? i'm sure she must be very busy with the baby now as she hasnt been on here for a while!!!!!!!! get ready for new baby/new schedule all you in labour and cancel the broadband/cable telly immediately! beck and call here you go mend all creaky floorboards/stairs immediately, do not cough/turn telly down/dont even breath or you may wake the baby!!!!!!!!get ready for 24hr telly/north wind blowing through your nightie! and best of all the warmth and smell of the little bundle that wakes you up!!! enjoy!!!!!!!:eek:0

Wait wait wait. If you want a minimum-intervention birth, wait - keep walking around, sit forward whenever you're sitting down, don't sleep on your back, but wait. It's worth it.
Last pregnancy I was pregnant for 43 1/2 weeks and had a wonderful natural birth. First pregnancy I was induced at 11 days over and suffered post-traumatic stress and post-natal depression as a result of all the interventions that result from being induced.
It is worth waiting - don't let your own impatience ruin your chance of an easier labour and birth.

love, Judith
