One exception is Torres Vina Sol. While normal retail price is around the £6 mark, it can be had for £4.50 or so. Vina Sol is so much better than virtually any other white wine in it's price range, that it's embarrassing.

Just have to say I completely agree with kingbing on this - my entire family love Vina Sol and if one of us sees it on offer we'll phone round to make sure we can all stock up:beer:
Pity neither of you said where we can buy it from! :rotfl:
Thanks to all who post constructively.

I get it from Tesco, pretty sure all supermarkets do it though.

    Wine: Hock
    Year: not stated
    Price: £2.80
    Where: Co-op

this wine is a great easy drinking wine, its better than some of the cheap wine you get in the "big four"

Take it this is a joke because as far as I am aware Hock is not so much a wine but more a cough tincture with added alcohol. Even the local tramps near us refuse to drink that!!
  • Castillio San Lorenzo
    From Tesco
At moment half price think its a fiver or maybe £4

I used to have an ulcer and couldn't drink red wine, but once when I was a bit tiddly I tried a friends wine and this is about the only wine that I can stomach. So very smooth... anyone else had any experience of it.

i love ros! in the summer, especially pinot grigio as nice crisp and dry (hate sweet ros!s) and this one is very fairly priced and juts as yummy as the £5.50+ ones.

  • The Fish Eye range is a range of Australian wines. They come in around the £4.59 mark, and to me represent great value for money.

The red merlot is soft, smooth, with bags of vine fruit, hints of pepper and (for me at least) some subtle spices to give an overall impression of a delicious, winey mince pie! Perfect for this time of year.

I have only had the white chardonnay once, but I was very impressed - I am not normally a fan of new world chardonnays but this was very good. Tasty, crisp and fruity.

They won't win awards, but for the price I would be hard pressed to name a nicer, more easy drinking wine. They are available from Sainsbury's where they are often available on a 3 for £10 deal!

    Happy drinking :)
  • Morrisson's currently are selling the Wolfblass Yellow Label Cabernet Sauvignon for £3.99 a bottle (normally around £8.99 a bottle). Lovely wine

I thought that, but as I said the co-op one is very nice and don't knock it until you have tried it :D
  • i love merlots, nice full bodied rich and fruity reds, one pleasant easy drinking one is the co-op's lime tree merlot, about £4.49 i think. the aussie wines are fab and hardys are always good and around the £5 mark also blossom hill merlot is a bit more but really good otherwise you can just get a blossom hill red for under a fiver.
