Ive sold about 6 on there so far.

I cant be mithered with amazon as well, this is fine for me. Yes its not quick if you have popular titles, but I think its good, with the donation to WT etc.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

I listed about 20 books a couple of weeks ago and sold my first today. Ok so it'll cost me £1.20 to post but it was sitting gathering dust so why not. Now all I have to do is get the boxes of books out of the loft.
  • I've just come across a great web-site that enables you to swap books online with other users - and it's FREE! There are over 70,000 books listed, and all you do is list your books and then choose one you'd like from the library. This will put you in touch with the person who has listed the book you want, and he/she will choose one of your books to complete the swap. And it's free (other than postage)
  • Hi Ezza

You haven't included the site's name or address in your post. It sounds great though – could you post it please?

I think there is more info on the freebies board. Readitswapit is great, I've been using it for quite a while now and I've never read so much, I managed to swap all my original books and now I'm swapping books I got from the site, I've got so many unread books now I'll be going for ages.
I've found that postage second class is 55p- £1 but usually nearer 55p
I just wish there was a similar site for CDs and DVDs, all sites I've found don't seem to be totally free and are more complicated than readitswapit.

I donate mine to charity shops and pick cheap ones up.
A bit like a swap with a donation to charity thrown in.
I'm glad a charity benefits at the same time as me saving money.
  • I have come across this website - https://www.readitswapit.com - and I've been really pleased with the swaps I've made so far.

What you do is list the books that you are prepared to swap, detailing their condition.

If someone likes the look of one of your books, you can choose to swop it with any on their list. The books are then swaped, so in effect all you do is pay for the postage of your book.

Of course, you are under no obligation to swap.

  • Also well worth a look is https://www.greenmetropolis.com
  • Also Bookcrossing.com is a good site. If you look in the forums there are often people running book boxes on a theme (eg if you have a shoe box full of murder mystery books say it ends up being posted around 5-10 people then when it comes back to you you have a whole new box of books to read). They also have local groups mostly on yahoo groups where they do meet ups. There is one in scaley forest soon in northants where you can come and end up going home with a boot full of books if you're not careful.
