Since posting on this forum thread 2 days ago I had a private message from 'CLAIMSMANAGER' promising that he would get someone to look at my claim and get back to me- Sure enough a very obliging Gentleman called back the very next day to say my claim had been upheld and that the cheque would be sent out today (Friday 13th!) I will comment further when our cheque arrives to give my final thoughts on E&L

Well, what a turn around. Good for you. Shame E&L only did it when you started sharing you story and other talked about their reputation.

It doesn't wash with me when companies try and be helpful on forums or on tv like watchdog (not that I watch that rubbish now). They really only do it to limit their reputations

I will look else where, no one wants aggravation when they loose a loved one

    Congrats Mrfrostie....

    I'm still waiting......

I emailed the claims manager back, advising that I couldn't supply the last three years medical history, however I'd been insured with E & L longer than this......

In his original email, he said that once I responded this would be dealt with as a matter of urgency.....

    5 working days and counting.........

Ask them to issue you with a full & final response in writing withing 14 days. Once you recieve a full and final response from them regarding the payout they are avoiding, then you can take it up with the FSA.
  • Come on Mr Claims Manager, you had plenty of pretendy sympathy when you came here to tell us all about how wonderful E&L are. Stop behaving like a devisive slimey little Toad & offer the OP some assistance.
