Yeah it activates the iPhone, just not the sim card...you'll just be waiting on the updates which like I said can take up to 24hrs. However if you have Orange appearing on your iPhone screen and signal it should be working by now
  • ive had signal since i put the card in but i keep getting thru to the activation line when i try to use it! ill just have to wait!!

    thank you for your help!

Anyone able to send an MMS? I just get a failed icon.
Just got off the phone with CS and they've realised since lunchtime today due to the high volume of reports that the Apple update that you get prompted for does not include Orange settings, hence the MMS not working, and some people can't use Internet either. They're only advice until they sort it out with Apple was to restore back to the factory version and decline the update!

After suffering Orange for 7 years this IPhone nonsense has been the final straw. Being told I must say £170ish for a 32gb iphone 3gs is insulting. God knows i fancied the iphone but the attitude from Orange has really got on my goat.

Goodye Orange, I really hope and pray that people look beyond the popularity of this handset and see what is really going on behind the "we cant do nothing" facade.

Burn in iphone hell! Bye :)

You wanted the most expensive type of iPhone. Why did you expect it to be free?

    I upgrade on Saturday :D

Well apart from the fact I have spent thousands with them I suppose there is no other reason :)

Enjoy its a great phone but over-priced.

I did look at that package however it is a big financial commitment to make especially 24 Month Contracts which i wouldnt sign up for, 18 months is what i tend to stick with or 12 if i can get a good deal.

I like LUFCGirl Work for Orange, and you would not be able to upgrade your handset as you are only 3 months into an 18 month contract as you have said, the earliest you could upgrade would be on Month 15 of your Contract however depending on your monthly Spending Habit you may well be able to upgrade however this is subject to a fee which is set according to how many months remain on your contract ...
Therefore if you are wanting an iPhone anytime soon you will have to pay out the remainder of your contract (This would be charges at the full cost of the line rental excluding any Discounts/Promotions).
    Hope That Helps

    Hi,
Can I buy a payg iphone and use my pay monthly sim in it if i upgrade my internet usage. I think when i signed up to my last contract i was offered the same internet bundle for £7 p/m. My last phone was 3g enabled.
I ask because although i'm sure it's possible to do this, a friend of mine bought one and then sent it back before unblocking it as customer services said it wouldn't work.
  • Palm Pre.

Take out of box, switch on and the phone updates itself and off you go.

If wanted go to Palm website, fill out a profile page and the Palm website syncs with your phone and a back up of all your data takes place every day in the background. If your phone is lost or stolen, log on at the Palm Website and disable your phone, this wipes all the data stored, get new phone and palm update your new phone. Genius

Palm Pre may not have a big memory as the iphone or as many apps at this time but it is a clear choice. The OS is much better than the IPhone are the features such as having as many apps open as you want at the same time and the sync of multiple contact accounts etc etc.

I looked at the IPhone and was not prepared to pay what both O2 nad Orange wanted or Apple. The only thing that makes it different from other phones is that it is in effect an Ipod with a phone.....many many phones can store music on them and many have apps. Not as much as Iphone but still.

Palm Pre and IPhone are not that different and i would expect Palms next Pre to be the real Iphone killer.

I am paying 18months of £45 which includes 1200 mins and 600 sms with unlimited data and WIFI spots and insurance which i thinmk is very good value for money and the phone did not cost me any upfront payment.

Look forward to the next big smartphone from someone else.

It does work, but they will block you doing it if you call them and tell them your using an iphone without an iphone tarrif.

I use my sim only £15 a month tarrif with internet on an iphone it works fine, just the wifi doesn't work for free

The internet doesn't work 1/2 time, even in central london, mms messages take ages to send O2 were bad, but orange are worse

They also block downloads over 10mb for everyone which is crap O2 don't do that.
