Got all the WiFi settings through as a text at about 4am this morning - woke me up!!!
I've got a good price - about the same price as I'm currently paying with twice as many texts and minutes and the phone id free (well it's not really cos I'm paying until 2012)
No way do I want to change to O2, as I've just finally got the whole family on Orange now so we're all our own magic numbers etc. I was going to say about the Orange Wednesday but just won a couple of annual passes to the cinema, so not too worried about that now:D
the only problem is iphones main function is the internet. orange cap the inter on contract to 750 mb and wifi to 1 gb and on payg internet to 250 mb and wifi to 750 mb. wont take you long to use ur quota. o2 have everything unlimited0 -
The tariffs are made in conjunction with Apple. It's an entirely different set of tariffs as everyone knows with o2. And as far as I was aware (from the retention thread on here especially) they're charging exisiting customers for a refurbished iPhone and theres no deals on it.
If you want to go to o2 then thats up to you, but with Orange you still get magic numbers and Orange Wednesdays too, neither of which are on o2. Like you said, if your average spend is £70 you'll get a cracking deal on any other phone, just not the iPhone.
Personally my iPhone is on o2, it doesn't bother me about network as long as I get what I want...so I happily switched to get the phone I wanted sooner.0 -

Well I have free wifi at work and home(well - paid for by broadband) so the only time I'll be downloading is if I'm out and about and I tend to be fairly busy out of the house so I probably won't be reaching the limit anytime soon. I never do much downloading anyway - as I've got used to Orange's download rates so tend to avoid connecting to internet if I have to pay for it. No-one needs constant access anyway!Noli nothis permittere te terere

We have got our Iphone... :j
Stupid question (I can not call orange, as I am at work still):
Is the Sim-Card already in the phone?
I couldnt find it...?!?!

The sims usually on a credit card size bit of plastic, it pops out.
There always a transit block on the sim in case it goes missing between the network and you, you need to call CS, clear security and they'll remove it.0 -

Yeah, thats how it always is... but no sim in the box. Need to check the phone later on.
What confused me also, is the fact is that I got the activision SMS (3 SMS you have to delete) on the old phone... incl SMS with passwords etc... Maybe I have to use the old SIm Card?!0 -
Thats very odd ? They always send a new sim ??0

I know the iPhone on o2 came wrapped in a cellophane style packaging so it would have been impossible to put the sim in beforehand, that came seperate to the phone.
In any case, if you have no sim you can use your existing sim card, you just need to make sure it's 3G enabled with orange to get the full services. It'd be worth pointing out to them about the sim card too because I was telling every customer they'd recieve a new sim card.0 -
As LUFC Stated earlier, Orange has enforced mandatory prices across the board in order to ensure stock control of the handset but also so everyone is treated the same regardless of if they are a new customer or upgrading (Which is often a gripe with some of the customers I see at work.) I mean my average spend is nearly £100pm, (Last month I spent over £300.00) and I’m a high spending customer, I work for the company but I will quite happily pay what is advertised.
Also Orange has received some stick over the pricing and fair usage cap but they had no need to undercut o2 as the iPhone is a premium product (regardless of how many people already have it etc) and as o2 have demonstrated people will pay those kind of prices and the fair usage policy is to stop network hoggers and ensures the network is stable and is not likely to crash as other networks have found.
P.S. The Sim Card is in a Grey Sleeve at on the Back of the Box, so you will need to remove all the cellophane to get it out0 -
Interesting thread.
I am 3 months into an 18 month contract and really fancy an iPhone. My current LG Arena just doesn't compete.
lufcgirl, do you think there's any way of me switching my contract to an iPhone without having to pay the rest of my contract off?0
