Your body will access the easiest fat stores depending on how you are losing weight...so for me because until recently the majority of my running was in the slow fat burning zone it was easier to access fat within the cells rather than other fat stores, that may change now much more of my running is at tempo...

For you it will be by calorie deficiet, so it would attack the easiest source (the last bit you put on usually)...then it would go for the harder sources after the easy source has been used up (annoying isnt it!), boobs are mostly fat so its easy to use them up I think!

*sob* So I am not going to get a flat stomach (well, flat-ish....I still want to be woman-shaped!) without losing cleavage??

    *reaches for jaffa cakes*

    Thanks though, that's interesting. :)

Nope sorry - to get a flat stomach you'd need to reduce your overall body % fat to a low enough level for you to have one (its different for everyone) - I have a cups now :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Ahh well, maybe I will live with a slightly curvy stomach and keep some boobs then. :D

Anyone done the Freckleton half? Looks perfectly timed for me to be ready for it, and it shouldn't be asthma-inducingly cold (although probably rainy!), and it looks reasonably flat?

Bit worried about the time limit, but with a decent amount of training, I should be well within it I think.

I have watched it :D Rich did it this year - starts and ends on grass which is a bit of pain...but otherwise I think its a good one.

Depends on what you want though - its a very club runner race - lots of fast times, here's this years results:
    http://www.ukresults.net/2009/freckle.html

Winning time 1:08 and 351 out of 534 under 2 hours - thats 66% of the field which is pretty good, there are two people over the time limit too - so I expect if you're a little outside they wont stop you :D

I was meant to but wasnt alllowed to run it as I was still in recovery from being ill - I'll prob do it next year though :D

Dont pick Fleetwood though - its dull as ditchwater and very boring at the back (I ran very slowly in that one and was on my own for most of the race!)

Thanks. My fastest 10k has been about 1hr 7 mins. I've run further - about 8 miles - but don't know my time for that.

I know there's a formula somewhere to work out a predicted half marathon time from a 10k time, but can't find it.

Going to try to get a 10k outdoor run in this week while the weather is good - it's too boring running more than about 5k on a treadmill, so my distances will be reduced over winter, but I will be concentrating on cardio stuff at the gym which will hopefully compensate a bit. Me and Mr Sunday were supposed to be going for a 10k on Saturday but we.....um....forgot. :o

This one is good - it says based on 1:07 10k you should be able to do 2:29 - I do find my times drop off at higher distances though.

For example I can currently run a 52 min 10k (did so in training last week), which should make my half about 1:55 - but I doubt I can run that at the moment...

You can also use it to set your training paces - the boxes on the side 'endurance' and 'stamina' work outs are very helpful :D
