  • Yeah I would need an HGV licence, which cost loads (well over £2k I think) so I'd need to find someone willing to take me on, pay for training etc, which in this climate is a long shot! Thanks for your  about OH! I go from  to :( and back again about 400 times a day! I just cannot understand 1) How he thinks all the bills are going to get paid and we are ggoing to eat, and 2) How he thinks its acceptable to stay in bed all day and make no effort to support his children.
I can honestly say that all the grief aside, I actually wish he would just get up and leave!! But I know he won't because he has nowhere to go, his family will not have him back, and quite frankly, can't even be arsed to get out of bed!! And if I could afford to, I would be long gone! I just feel our relationship means nothing to him, his family means nothing to him and I am sick of it!

Sorry to bring your thread down!:o

    Ah Sarah,
I had no idea things were so rotten for you right now sweetheart.

Will catch up on your diary, in the meantime ((hug))

  • Criky, thats a huge amount of money. I didn't think it was that much. Maybe it will be something to think about when the economic climate is better or your OH gets a job... Whichever come first.

I really can't help with Oh except offer support. It must be really hard seeing him act the way he does. Knowing you are struggaling to put food on the table and pay the bills he still hasn't acted. Anyone should think about either getting benifits or a job if off work, not lying around at home. I know he 'may' be depressed but he has made no attempts to help himself with that either (going to the docs), and after being there the best thing for me was getting up and going to work each day. If he only took the steps he could help his family and 'cure' his depression. Its sad but I hope one day he will look back to this part of his life and realise he should have moved his butt!

Is there anything else you can get rid of (sky?) or reduce your food brands etc to make it less cushy to sit at home. So in other words if he wants these luxarys he has to go get them?

Don't worry about bringing my thread'down' you have done no such thing. Its nice to be able to rant about something and get others opinion :D
  • We're currently in credit with Sky by just over £200 as they'd been charging us an extra £10 per month for the last two year - guess who's in charge of the Sky bill!?! But once that credit is gone, Sky will be cancelled until OH gets another job.
Food we are already using some Basics/Tesco value, but there is a lot of savings to be made there. He won't be getting anything that resembles a luxury, and I don't care how much he moans!

He probably is depressed, and has an appt with his Dr for 12th April, as he will only see his 'family Dr' but last time he saw him, he was given some anti-d's, and that prescription is still on the side of the fridge!!

I just feel so useless, like there's nothing I can do to motivate him. Sometimes I think he does realise what he's doing and says he's gonna do x, y and z, but it never materialises

    Thanks PaP:kisses3:

  • Hi all, mini update from me... I have a decision to make :o

Ok so that interview I went for I was offered the job, my first thought was :j However I don't think it will be possible to take it :( The reason being is the pay/hours are less than what I am on now and it just won't work. 16 hours a week with possible overtime. The only positives are progression in the company and no travel costs. But that doesn't outweigh the fact I shall be 'losing' over £100 a month  I would take it, I was taking it up until an hour ago, like a shot but the fact is I am in debt and it will be silly to go for it. My heart is saying yes my head no!

These will be my SOA for the post, and as you can see there is no movement at all. The new company are payed weekly, I shouldn't be stopped tax and I will have very little pension/ni. Bearing in mind I have no savings for holiday, I have over £300 of debt and I will still be stuck at home for at least another year.

    Monthly ~ income £396 (before tax/ni/pension)
    £120.00 ~ Rent
    £16.00 ~ House ins
    £12.50 ~ Line rental
    £21.00 ~ internet savings
    £160.00 ~ Cambridge

    =£329.50

    Weekly ~ income £99.00 (before tax/ni/pension)
    £30.00 ~ Rent
    £4.13 ~ House in
    £3.13 ~ Line rental
    £5.25 ~ Internet
    £40.00 ~ Cambridge

    = £82.51

Any opinions/advice would be fab

How likely is there to be regular overtime? Career progression is not to be turned down lightly, and you have been unhappy/unfulfilled in your current role

Just a thought from the one who is so thick that i cant get the Dragon thingy to work.
I think it would be good for you to be away from where you are now.
As your new hours are during the day might you be able to pick something else up even a night a week to bring your income up a wee bit?
Are you likely to get any overtime at all?

Shoe gal, I am certainly unhappy where I am now but if I think seriously I can cope there for a little longer. It will take a huge amount of strength but I can/will do it. Overtime isn't guaranteed, it will be as/when ie my contract would be min 16hr, so they could just give me 16hr one week and 25hr the next.

*hugs* Beanie, can I help at all? Or the techie forums? How about your DS?
Beanie, I do really want to get away from there, but as I said before is it jumping from the flames into the fire? The new job runs anything from 6am-5.30pm the job I have now 9am-5pm, so if I were to get a evening job it would be easier in the place I am now. Plus if I were to get a supermarket job (area where I am now) I would then need travel costs if I took the new job :( Overtime as above, I 'could' get it but not guaranteed...

    Oh I am confused :rotfl:
