Pap, I still think 'go for it' even if the money side of things will be a bit tight at first. If I've read your diary correctly you only have a few more months of CD to pay for then the situation will be much better?

Good point Shoe on the CD.
So 3 months Pap of it being really tight is doable.
Think of it as a 100 day challange

Yes I am hoping that I can be off CD by June. which would free up £40 a week. However I still have debt to service and a holiday to get spends for within those three months too. So I will be living on nothing before thinking about my holiday :o It won't work guys sadly :(

17th May - 24th May. This coming month I shall have £50 to use towards it but thats all. If I take that job I won't have this disposable, plus it will all have to go to Argos because I couldn't repay that before the 0% ends on the new wage :(

My opinion, for what it's worth.....

    I'd take it.

You want out of where you're working now, this gives you a step out, an experience of something else and a new start with better prospects.

Ok the money side of it doesn't quite add up at the moment but once you're finished with CD and the debt is gone, you'll be ok. Your 0% ends soon on your debt, how much will you still need to find to clear that? Is there any chance of getting a 0% card to transfer this onto?

Work out a forecast of income/outgoings in your current job, til the end of the year.

Then work it out with the new wage.

I'm sure when you take the travel expenses into account that you're paying now versus the small bit of interest you'd pay on your debt until you finish CD and clear it, there will be minimal difference....ok so it might take a bit longer to clear the debt but as you say the new job offers career developement which is planning for the future.

I appreciate you've got a holiday to save for too but realistically how much do you need for this, is there anything you could ebay to raise a little more towards it.

Forget the money for one moment and look at each job for what it offers....which one do you really want? Which one offers the best chance of moving forwards? If you want it enough, you CAN make it work.

    Hey PAP

Firstly well done on getting offered the job. I second what Pooky said. You need to sit down and take everything else out of the equation and just pretend that both jobs are the same money wise. If they were, which one would you go for?

Then you have your answer. Money isn't everything and it can be worked out. You need to go with what you really want or the opportunity will be gone.
