Not intending to intrude. Just a thought - have you considered a role in the care sector or as a health care assistant in the NHS? These are important jobs which offer a variety of challenges. Often there will be shift working and a variety of fulltime or part-time opportunities. Pay rates are OK, there is pay progression, premiums fro unsocial hours, training (including NVQs) good terms and conditions (holiday, pension, sickness scheme).

  • Pap,
I would be happy to help you with CD if it means you achieving your goal (ie discount) If you arent ready to give up, then DONT. I know how important this is to you and frankly, I would prefer you to get to goal and have been able to help you achieve it then you giving up. I am 100% serious. It may be worth looking at moving up the maintenance program now anyway-what is your BMI? (Also taking the running into consideration as well)

Am I reading this correctly-your debt is at 0%? If so, I really dont see why you need to pay it off ASAP-its not doing anything just sitting there so why give up your dream when its not actually causing more debt? Please feel free to correct me but thats how I have read it. You are a true inspiration to us all Pap.

Are you putting money into savings as well?

    Sorry, loads of questions.

Spirit, its funny you should mention that bacause I have always wanted to work with the elderly. Either that, animals or finance, however because I have no qualifications/background I don't think I will be able to get a job in it. I have searched courses but all the p/t ones you need to have a job in the sector _rolleyes__revamp_by_Asmodiel.gif I think I need to look into it a bit more and maybe try and get a really low paid job in the sector and see what happens. That's a job for this weekend (around working) and see what I can do/get. Thanks Spirit :D

Bun, Thanks, I am not ready to give up I want to get to 100lbs lost at least which is 27lbs to go.... Obviously the bmi 25 is a little lower than that but I am not to worried about that yet. My bmi just now is 32.3 from 45.5. The problem is with my pcos I knew it would be longer than 'normal' CD clients but on May 3rd it would have been a year :o I am still running, which is what my CDC feels is slowing down my weight loss. It has happened before when I started excercising using dvd's :(

    My debt is...
    £90 @ 0% till June 31st
£237.80 @ 0.408% (however I don't know if this is set to rise)
So being on CD isn't causing me debt but its not helping because I have no disposable income for myself and I still need to clear one debt and service the other. Also I am really stuck because my holiday is in May and I have no savings to use while there :o No money is going into savings, thats a job when I am debt free. But I do have a copper pig at home :rotfl:

Thanks, I just keep plodding but these past few days my world has come crashing down and I am at a cross roads with no map :rotfl:

PAP, you don't need any experience to work in a care home initially and a good one will NVQ train you too. I've known a few people go into it with no job experience, it's all about your personality and having the right caring nature. Go for it!

I understand the crashing down feeling, but keep going, there's another side and it's much brighter :)

  • I am going to speak to my CDC as I am not sure that the excersise (sp!?) is causing the weight loss to slow down, basic maths say that the calories burned vs calories burned mean you will lose weight...

I will get back to you babe.

I will give it to you at cost if it helps, it will save you a few pounds...

Hi Pap - I know that the NHS round here are really pushing to employ more people, I'm not sure if it's a nationwide scheme but it's definitely worth getting in touch with your local one to see if they are recruiting - here they are taking people through really good training schemes in a variety of things like admin, healthcare, ambulance personnel...

    Lots of luck xx

  • Thanks Gem, I didn't know and the jobs I looked at last year asked for experience. I have actually found a few on JC+ and they don't ask for experience. Some ask for transport but many are on-site. I will defianlty think about apply for those too... Nothing ventured nothing gained as Beanie will say :D

Thanks Bun, my CDC says the same but she can't work out why I am not losing weight at the same speed each week. I can't answer her as I am doing nothing different each week... Tis strange Shrug_by_melonhead_emotion.gif The discount thing is something to think about, thanks :A

Oh and huge thanks for that link... Lots of information to take in there...

Thanks Squizz, I have seen lots of jobs on nhs jobs but I have never applied. I will see what they have online, or contact someone. I really don't mind what I do to be honest but it will be nice to get out of retail for a while. There is only so many angry/upset/stressd customers one can take :rotfl: Thanks for taking the time to reply :D

Thanks all for giving me the confidence and drive to get 'out there'. Also replying, its alwasy nice to see new faces and get great advice from more mature people :D

    Keep plodding :j
