  • Apart from the Freecom usb memory transfer stick on the website (different code), can anyone see a 64Mb one in the Index catalogue with the code they claim it has (110-085)?

Enough of this fun and frivoulity!! (I cant spell!)

Personally if Im lucky enough to get the printer then Im a very happy bunny.

I did get the two emails and money has been taken from my CC.

Which makes me think......even though it maybe below any actual purchase amount with which you can make a claim(I think it is £100), can you not involve the CC company as they have some responsibilty with regards the transaction???

But like many others I will insist it goes back and at Index's expense.

    Keep Smiling ;D

Many thanks to BigKisses for the catalogue photos, which I've saved.
I tried looking for this item on their website by just going through their links and you get to a page by following:
    - sound/vision
    - pc/laptops/accessories
    - printer/peripherals
the photoprinter is shown in the bottom right hand corner of the page, at £99.99
When you click on this printer it takes you to the page showing the price at £19.99.
It appears to me that this is a simple pricing error on their website, rather than a mistaken description (since no pc cable could ever cost £99.99 and no 64MB USB memory card should ever cost that much either).
But, since Index has already deducted the money which they only do on dispatch then a contract has been bound. But I think they realised the mistake very early and are trying to get round it by delivery of a different item than the one we ordered. Since their Terms and Conditions state "Your order will be accepted by us (and a contract will then be formed between us) when we despatch the goods to you." they will claim that no contract exists for the printer because they never dispacthed a printer to you.
Personally I'm looking forward to a good old to-and-fro argument with them when my cable printing usb thingy arrives!

Are we all going to post what we get and decide what to do then ? or is everybody just going to return the
cable, memory stick or whatever index decide to send us?
we could start a swop shop - I will swop my cable for some roof tiles (wind getting up again)

Just been looking up the distance selling regulations here

    http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk/cgi-bin/wirral/con1item.cgi?file=*ADV0051-1111.txt

One thing is that if you get something you didn't order you may get to just keep it and get your money back...

    Quote from trading standards :-
    "Unsolicited Goods

Unsolicited goods are those that have been sent to you 'out-of-the-blue', that you haven't ordered. The Distance Selling Regulations now say that you can treat these goods as an 'unconditional gift', in other words, you can keep them or give them away, sell them or use them or destroy them, and the trader cannot expect you to have to pay for them."
  • Well done 'Gadjet' that sounds very interesting! ;D

80% off a printer, plus a free gift, Index must be turning into a charity ;D lol.

May be its a tax dodge! They've made too much money this year and need to give some items away to reduce their profits margins??? ;)

    Good find ;D

    But it says:

    The right to clear information

Before you decide to buy, the seller must give you the following information:

The name of the trader, along with their postal address if you have to pay in advance
An accurate description of the goods or services

    What about after the event?

    Hang on - I've lost the plot haven't I? :D ;D
