    No.93 reporting in.
My additional cheque for £1500 has cleared today, so I am now ahead of my target for the challenge. Woohoo!!
My balance as at today now stands at £113278.11.

Why is it that the mortgage is all I'm thinking about and how to find ways to reduce it. How sad am I???

Keep up the good work everyone, it is really keeping me motivated.

Not at all ekroys........you just caught me staring whistfully at my mortgage spreadsheet wondering why I can't magic OP's out of thin air. I find the MF threads and diaries hugely motivating though, although with an averge forecasted OP per month of just under £100 I sometimes feel a little inadequate but it's great to see so many people making small OP's as well as those achieving bigger ones

Happy Easter everyone!. No.87 reporting in, well l hadn't forgotten you all it's just lots of things conspired to stop us reaching our target (and still are) so l'm taking myself away until we can get back to our £1,029 balance and start again, hopefully sometime in the summer.

We may not reach our £5k target but anything's better than nothing.

WELL DONE on reaching the 250K mark everyone xx

    Happy moneysaving all.

I am on to say that I will not be making any overpayments for April or May as we are moving house and taking on a bigger mortgage at the beginning of June. I am putting the money aside for April and May and will do an overpayment after the move since the money is already allocated for this. Not sure if I can reach my target this year since we will have increased costs of a slightly larger house but will find out more in July/August when I am dealing with the figures - will continue to overpay what I can and will be of course raiding the mortgage savings tin.

    Hi Cake,

Happy Easter to you too. Hope you had lots of chocolatey goodness.

WOW a quarter of million, we're all amazing!! (Imagine if the thousands of people with a mortgage were all doing this . . . ) Well done everyone!

So here's my update (no 65) - an extra March overpament of £152.15 (every penny counts!). Also I've just paid in and extra £2700 for April which is brilliant because it means I've just managed to reduce our monthly minimum payment to less than the amount we get every month from the lodger (£320). Our main aim was to get the lodger's money to cover the mortgage so we'll be easing up a bit now. (At least that's what I've told the other half. I'm not sure I'm not a bit addicted to seeing the interest payments get smaller every month!)
