    Mortgage-free Glee!
    Morning All,

It's always a good day when another stroke-through appears in the signature. Still bang on course for our 01/12/10 mortgage freedom date and, happily, ahead of schedule with the holiday now fully paid for and spending money safely ring-fenced and a wee bit of extra work coming our way in the summer to provide a better buffer.

    Mortgage Payment 01/04/10 - £827.06
    Mortgage Interest 01/04/10 - £27.89
    Mortgage overpayment 01/04/10 - £1,825.83

    Mortgage Outstanding 01/04/10 - £21,000

    Cheers,

    Billy (#17)

    No. 93 reporting in.
Another £571 OP made with my usual payment.
I have an old bank account that I have cleared and used this money £1500 to pay via cheque, which I sent on Tuesday. This hasn't been added as yet.

I have paid so far £2284 My mortgage is now £114729.90 with an additional £1500 to come off in the next few days. So with the additional 1500 my percentage paid would be 63%. So ahead of target woohoo!

I am hoping to keep the overpayment up til the end of the year, but I don't think there will be anymore extra payments above what I pay currently.

I have been working out what would be best for when I return after my maternity leave May 2011 and I think it would be to go back term time rather than work 4 days a week. My childcare costs would be around £700 per month from my little girl and the little boy due in August 2010. I guess we have to cross that bridge when we come to it.

Anyhoo, everyone is doing really well so keep up the good work guys and gals
  • Number 82 checking in. My March £40 payment has just cleared. Need to up my game if I'm going to reach my humble target though.
