I know what you mean. I'm obsessed with the BOE rate. A couple of years ago I barely knew what it was. Now around 4th of every month I get all twitchy and keep checking the news.

    Here's one I prepared earlier... :D

Think I should have gone for an online mortgage...

I don't have an online mortgage - I can't even access my Woolwich mortgage online - but all I've done is to get the sort code and account number over the telephone from Woolwich (Barclays as they became) and make a payment to that account as I would transfer money to a friend!

It goes in the same day! So I reckon you can also do this as long as you get the sort code and account number of your mortgage! makes it much much easier to OP! :T

    No.66 reporting in.
Snow, sickness and the strange accounting periods that wages use over the festive period meant record amounts of overtime appeared in my wages this month. Unfortunately this was offset by heavy demands on the bank of mum. Will declare £1199.73 as overpayments this month (yes I know I could have found an extra 27p but it would have made my outstanding mortgage balance look untidy LOL).
Off to collapse in a heap for a couple of weeks now
    Good luck all

I have in addition to my residential mortgage a buy to let mortgage for an apartment, I had a sizeable inheritance from my Aunt and invested it in a new build apartment before the bubble burst.
My intention was to keep it for 3 years and then sell and with the proceeds to go towards my own mortgage, but this will not be case now. I have decided to keep the apartment for the forseeable future and then sell once it picks up so that I dont lose out on it.
My fixed rate for this ended beginning of this month and have contacted the building society and paid off a lump sum off the mortgage of £1306.33.
So all in all Im feeling really pleased with myself. Doubtful that this will happen every month but will update when I do overpay on the BTL.
This amount is not part of my initial overpayment on my residential mortgage target of £6k.

I have been reading the posts on here and we are all doing really well!

Sorry I'm a little late joining but have been making payments all year so far!

Target is £2000 for the year, last years total was £468 so I think thats a good target.

    January - £50
    February - £50
    March - £500

£1,400 to go :) And my first full £500 overpayment woohoo!

Another £200 OP gone on the mortgage this month, long may our rate stay at 2.5% (but realistically probably not for much longer!)
Also managed to find quite a lot of spare cash so the savings account now stands at just over £3,100 as possible overpyaments for next year.
Although we have just found out we are having a baby girl so off to the shops, next month might not look so healthy!!

    Well done all!

    Hi,

Just looking to catch the attention of any MFiT-T2 members also who may be lurking in this 2010 challenge.

MFiT-T2 Chart 01 is going to be published tomorrow and we're still missing a lot of updates...

I'll probably allow updates until the end of March due to the amount of missing updates (over 80 people yet to update):
    http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=tks17oKUg5u0jJOsscg4G1Q&single=true&gid=3&output=html

...so feel free to pass on an update on or after tomorrow if you forgot - a late update is better than no update.

Challenge update form currently in my signature, or see the first few entries in the challenge thread for further info.

Also, if you want to leave the MFiT-T2 challenge, please could you let us know, either by PM or posting in the challenge thread, so we can update our records.

    Thanks,

    Financial Bliss / Maz123.
