I don't have an online mortgage - I can't even access my Woolwich mortgage online - but all I've done is to get the sort code and account number over the telephone from Woolwich (Barclays as they became) and make a payment to that account as I would transfer money to a friend!

It goes in the same day! So I reckon you can also do this as long as you get the sort code and account number of your mortgage! makes it much much easier to OP! :T
And it doesn't cost you anything, you just ring your bank? OOh somebody stop me:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Thanks :T:T:T:T

Need to call bank tomorrow to find out where my overpayment in Dec has gone as not showing in my mortgage account. Once that's sorted going to overpay £600. ( Looks great but includes Jan, Feb and March OPs!)

Have set aside my savings nest egg and with interest rates being so poor have decide to reduce my savings from £450 to £50 and OP by £600. My target was £3000 but now I am going to try for £6000. (Gulp! )

Have my loose change piggy banks to bagg up at some point although won't be £600 there but maybe £6. Gym memberhip has been cancelled so that will help a bit too.

Having to cancel my regular OP for a few months as I completely forgot March is the month of a) car insurance, b) car tax, c) buildings/contents insurance being paid. Can't afford to dip into savings any further and still have to pay contractors for kitchen, so a bit skint this month and next! Was planning to pay cashback site bonus money as OP but is now paying for my car tax, so still coming in useful!
  • Hi Cake21,

I am well on target for my original target (more so that the other half is putting an extra couple of hundred to the overpayments next month). So, can I change my target to £1500.00?

    Thanks,

    Laura

My total for March is going to be £515.60.

I sold some old gold, had some ready for an overpayment and raided the savings a bit to get to that. That's 2 months in a row with over £500 but i am not sure i can do that every month. We'll see.

    Michelle

ETA - just calculated that my end of year target of £5k/4 = a total of £1250 for the quarter, and this takes me to £1278.38 paid off this year so i am slightly ahead of my target for now. It's amazing what you can achieve when you set your mind to it. I set an ambitious target and it would be great to meet it at the end of the year.
